Excellent food. Huge portions. .fast friendly service. Reasonably priced for the amount of food. We ate breakfast and left bursting and very satisfied !

Went on a Saturday morning just before ten. Busy. Waited probably 10mins for a table for two. I had bc Benedict or something. It was bacon instead of ham. It was good kinda fattening feeling and nothing too special. But it hit the spot after a night of drinking. Would go again.

I came in because it had all day breakfast and served beer. I had no great expectations(I’m sorry I know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover) when I walked in the crowd was mixed like walking into Walmart(you have the different types of people but all have the same goal… good deals). Our server came and got our drink order but when I asked what they had on draught she said they don’t carry draught beer… Curious draught beer is on their special??? So the first thought in my mind was a Heineken(my safe beer) and I think my partner had a bud. I ordered a Greek wrap with sweet potato fries and my partner ordered breakfast, 2 eggs, bacon, toast, and hashbrowns. Our server was really nice and was trying her best to keep up with all her customers so I was forgiving with the slow service. Our food came out and I was a bit shocked, it looked good I mean really good. My wrap was huge and my fries were pretty good(you can’t make mistakes with yam fries it’s pretty simple). My partner LOVED his meal he said the bacon was the best he’s had going out to a restaurant. My first impression of this place was not high because it’s a chain breakfast restaurant, plus they were advertising draught beer as a special but they don’t carry draught. If you are not a big fan of kids running around like crazy don’t step in because I guess no one else minds. When I’m in the West end and in the mood for home style breakfast food I’ll come here.

We woke up one morning and for whatever reason, all we could think about was a nice home style diner breakfast. Smitty’s is always a nice diner type breakfast joint but I didn’t feel like crossing Stony Plain Road to get there so we opted to try Ricky’s since it’s been years since our last visit. It was a nice snowy day so we were excited to get into a booth and get comfortable. The room was actually very cozy which was perfect with the weather being so gloomy out. There were pop culture references on the wall. Everything from old James Dean like paraphernalia to Donkey Kong stuffed animals and retro Star Trek porcelain statues against a wood accent interior. It’s like a cleaner version of Red Robins! Staff came promptly to give menus and take our orders. From the hostess to the waitress to additional servers coming by to check on us, everyone had smiles and seemed to genuinely care about our experience. I was feeling extra hearty and wanted both savory and sweet so I ordered the big waffle breakfast which comes with choice of eggs, bacon, sausage links, a tater-omelette-like creation and waffles. My fiancée wanted to stay for the viewing of my feeding habits so she only ordered eggs, taters and toast. The food came promptly and did not taste greasy at all. My eggs were cooked as ordered and the waffles were wonderful when equipped with butter and syrup. The tater/hash/omelette like side was a welcomed side dish. I don’t know what they put into it but it had unique taste to it; they added an additional ingredient beyond the regular potatoes when frying it up. I’ll have to check it out again! Bill came out to $ 27 which isn’t bad for breakfast for two! TL;DR: great service, fast food, enjoyable and not greasy!

My sister and I had breakfast at this Ricky’s location over the weekend, and it was the best food and service I have ever received in a Ricky’s. We had our food within 10 minutes of ordering and it was delish! Very impressed with this location. We’ve never had bad food from Ricky’s, but sometimes we’ve had a long wait or not-so-great service. This location definitely went beyond my expectations.

One of my favourite regulars in Edmonton. Though a food chain, the staff here are very long-term: signs of great management, as I always feel like I am coming home when I eat here. Hosts and servers are extremely thoughtful, warm and excellent with suggestions(as they’ve actually had most of dishes on the menu! See again, not stingy management — clients know when you’re trying to fake an explanation!). Whether enjoying a buffalo chicken wrap, chicken clubhouse sandwich, one of their delicious burgers or rotating seasonal dishes, I absolutely love Ricky’s menu. Dependable and you know exactly how it should be prepared. Large portion sizes, delicious and cheap swapout yam fries and massive milkshakes — diner food at it’s absolute best!

Have to say one of the nicest experiences at a restaurant in a while. We had shopped several hours and got to the restaurant 45 minutes before closing. We never felt rushed to decide and the two staff members were thoughtful and attentive. Sweet potato fries started our dinner and made us hungry for even more! Even diners that do not care for sweet potatoes nibbled till the bowl was empty! After our food arrived, we were checked on twice to make sure we were happy with our meals. The plates exceeded anything we could have expected. The Cuban sandwich was delightful. My Calamari and Shrimp salad was shared with most of out table as I wanted everyone to taste the great combination of the tender calamari with citrus dressing. A bowl of pesto Alfredo was enjoyed by our youngest diner and although she was VERYFULL, she took the tasty noodles home to enjoy for a snack… she made a comment that she wanted to marry it! Our meal came in under 58 dollars for three people with appetizers, meals and drinks. Good value for our money Our meal

I’ve been here a few times for their breakfast served until 4PM. The restaurant isn’t too big but it’s been about half full both times I went. They have booths and tables with chairs by the front window. The service was friendly and helpful. The first time I had eggs, sausage, and breakfast potatoes(I’m not a fan of the shredded hashbrowns so they let me substitute them for potatoes for no extra charge). The thing I liked was that it wasn’t greasy like at other breakfast places I’ve eaten at. The 3 pancakes are huge and I wasn’t able to finish them along with potatoes and some fruit during my second visit. The fruit bowl wasn’t huge for $ 5 but I liked the variety with melons, pineapple, orange, and a grape. Would come back here again when I’m in the mood for breakfast or brunch. The lunch menu looked decent too.

My friend and I couldn’t figure out where to go for lunch at the last minute. We were in the parking lot of a nearby business — actually looking to pull out into traffic when I saw the sign in the corner of my eye and suggested since we were already there why not give it a try. It was late for lunch, too early for the supper crowd so the restaurant wasn’t very busy, much to our benefit. We were seated right away, the hostess was friendly. A waitress came to us before we got settled and gave us menus. We were pleasantly surprised by the choices,(the garlic fries are a first). My friend commented on the food being brought to a nearby table(pancakes and sausage) and how good it looked, well our waitress snuck a sausage from the kitchen for us, it was DELICIOUS! We both enjoyed a little freebie there. I had the cod and chips, the garlic fries cost $ 2 extra for the substitute, but it was worth it. I only ordered one piece of fish and thought it rather on the small side, but after finishing off everything else, the coleslaw was very good, I was more than satisfied. My friend had the mighty burger(she thinks that the name) and was impressed on how homemade it looked, the mushrooms in it were humongous. All in all we had a very good dining experience and will definitely go back again!

I was treating someone to supper who was very hungry and requested a substantial dinner of roast beef. I thought of Ricky’s All Day Grill. He was quite happy with his large plate full of meat, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and Yorkshire pudding covered in gravy, while I opted for the turkey dinner. I love turkey, even when it is not holiday time. I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size and quality of the dinner. There was so much turkey(thinly sliced white breast meat, to be exact) that I still had some on my plate when I had finished most of the trimmings. The meat was juicy, while the vegetables almost stole the show. It was a stir-fry mix and was fresh, not frozen, and roasted in seasonings that enhanced their flavour instead of overpowering it. The mashed garlic potatoes were ordinary and tasted like they came from a mix, but went well with the overall meal which also included stuffing, cranberry sauce(fresh — not jelly), and gravy. I had my gravy to the side, as I find I prefer to control the amount I eat. I am glad I did, as it was served lukewarm. Our meals were only around $ 14(a smaller size is available for about $ 12) and overall we found Ricky’s to be a great choice. The menu is very extensive and includes several all-day breakfast items, while there is a different menu for earlier in the day with more eggs and pancake-type things. This particular location seemed less family oriented than other locations of Ricky’s I have been to, and more like a pub or bar. Service was efficient, albeit a bit brash at times, but generall good.
