Radisson Hotel and Convention Centre Edmonton

This is for the restaurant only. The fish & chips… well the fish was rock hard and I couldn’t cut through it… but the fries were delicious! They replaced my meal with a chicken quesadilla. It was dead quiet except for the movie the chef was playing on his phone/​tablet. (Which was quite loud and violent sounding)
I’ve always liked the food and service here… would I recommend it or go out of my way to be here? NO. Sorry Radisson…

We stayed in the jacuzzi suite and it was very nice. The shower had the extra wall shower heads and the I have size bed was very comfortable. The included hot breakfast was the only downfall. Selection wasn’t the greatest and they told us we almost missed it even though we were there an hour before it ended.

We really enjoyed our one night stay at the Radisson. The front desk clerks were all very friendly and accommodating.
Our room was clean and seemed well maintained. The showers had the adjustable rate faucet which was a nice addition.
We ran out of coffee in the morning and a very nice man delivered coffee right to our door less than 5 minutes later. They really do seem to do their best to provide a nice experience at this hotel by going the extra mile with the little things.
We’d definitely stay here again!

I was here yesterday first as a hairstylist for a wedding in one of the guest rooms, then as a person attending the wedding in one of the banquet rooms. They have done some nice work with their florals outside and as I arrived the staff member tending to them wished me a good morning. The people I was meeting were in the lobby and their room was in the 2^nd building, which is newer so I’m not sure how the suites in the original building compare, so this review of the room is only based on that building. It was a king suite, I liked the fact that the bed was partitioned off and could be quite private if you wanted or opened up to increase the size of the room. Modernly decorated with a nice wet bar area, desk area and a little table, I could definitely see myself staying there if I was requiring a room in that end of the city.
As for the Banquet room it was a great space, a nice bar area in the one corner, decent sized dance floor, and a nice layout for this function. The food we had for the buffet was excellent, great variety, the only problem was that they ran out of the original chicken and had to replace it with something else, it was still ok, just not as yummy as the 1^st dish we had. They also had a nice assortment of desserts and of course coffee and tea. The bar and wait staff was friendly, helpful and for the most part quite efficient.
To get that 5^th star the staff would have to step up another notch, the people who had rented the room had requested for some items (extra housecoats, a couple chairs and lamps) to be brought up to the room by 7:30 and at 8:30 we had to call back to get them to finally bring them. Also at the banquet we asked for a chair to be added to our table and a place setting to be brought and only the chair came so I had to ask again. The only other thing holding it back was the sound system, which to be honest I’m not sure if it was the hotels or the DJ’s, but the speeches were kind of hard to understand at some points due to there being a lack of clarity coming through the speakers.
Oh one more thing. they could do with more signage directing you through the buildings, like elevators that way, lobby this way etc. Overall though the space was very clean and well maintained, not what you would necessarily expect from a hotel in the middle of an industrial area! Would definitely recommend both the hotel and banquet services to someone looking to have a function.

If I could leave no stars I would. I stayed at this hotel as my friend had a wedding in their facility. To start the hotel overcharged us. We were told guests had an 109 $ rate. We were charged 180 $. When we complained the day of we were told 140 $. Better but not good enough.
The day of the wedding we were getting ready in the honeymoon suite and when I ran back to my room to grab something I found housekeeping cleaning our room. When I asked why she was there she said she thought the room was empty. Completely ignoring a wedding dress hanging from the window, our luggage on the bed and all our random personal items still in the bathroom and around the room. I asked her to leave and she argued with me.
I went downstairs to ask the manager why there was someone cleaning our room when we had a late check out and he was confused as to why I was upset. Apparently cleaning a room before a guest checks out is par the course. I had to explain that the room would not be clean if I take a shower, jump in the bed, or lick the cups of my heart desired. I don’t understand what was so hard to understand. A room being marked cleaned before being vacated is not okay. He said he’d talk to the staff. That was it. All I can think is that if this is the way they conduct their cleaning then this hotel is far from hygienic or clean.
This was just the tip of the iceberg for a wedding where staff broke my friends wedding cake and served frozen pastry and desserts amongst many other issues I witnessed first hand.
I will Never. Ever. stay at a Radisson after this experience because this hotel clearly has no idea what they’re doing.

Great hotel!
The rooms are spacious, contemporary, light and airy during the day and peaceful and dark at night!
The pool is a good size with a fun water slide. There is also a nice big hot tub and sauna.
The fitness room is basic but for a hotel gym it’s good especially if cardio is your thing. If your needing a large selection of weights this probably won’t work for you, but there are also bigger gyms within 10 minutes.
The lobby is beautiful. The restaurant is also gorgeous and trendy.
Everything is super clean which is nice as i can be quite the germaphobe.
The staff are great extremely helpful and kind.
The location is actually pretty good your pretty much within 10 – 15 minutes of downtown calgary, the airport, and sunridge mall.
We will stay here every time were in calgary for sure :-)

Attention to all brides out there: DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL FOR YOUR WEDDING. Myself and my fiancée are both fairly laid-​back professional people. We rarely complain about things and are quite easy to please. That is why you can trust that my review is based on the truth!
We started looking for a venue for our September 2015 wedding in July of this year. Throughout my conversations with this hotel I spoke to at least 5 different event coordinators. Every time I called, the previous person had quit and a new person was in the role. This meant that the service was very inconsistent and not trustworthy at all!
However, we finally met with Maggie and she, by making several promises, convinced us to book our wedding with them. At that time we completed a contract which was explained to us as being ONLY for the rental of the ballroom. She explained that the arrangements for food, guest rooms etc. would be made closer to the actual event. She also promised us that, because we were booking so early, she would guarantee the 2014 rates for our menu and that she would give us a complimentary guest room on the night of the wedding. We paid a $ 1000 deposit and left happy, thinking everything was good.
Now the nightmare starts!
A couple of days ago I was booking linen rentals etc. for our big day. I wanted to find out when we would be able to decorate the space so I emailed Maggie to find out. To my dismay, my email was answered by yet another person who was now the event coordinator (by now the 5^th or 6^th one we had dealt with). This woman, named Sami, was very difficult and rude to deal with from the beginning. Since a new person was now handling our wedding I listed the promises that Maggie had made to us to confirm that they were still part of the deal. Sami, in a very condescending manner, kept saying that if it wasn’t in the contract it didn’t exists. I kept trying to tell her that Maggie had explained the original contract was ONLY for the rental of the ballroom and that other details would be added later. She would not listen to a word I said. She then advised that they would not honour the 2014 menu prices and that we would not recieve a complimentary room on the night of the wedding. When we asked to speak to her manager she refused. She was very difficult to deal with and, obviously, did not care about our wedding or keeping our business.
Of course, by now I have made many deposits and plans surrounding that particular wedding date. For this reason, I was very reasonable with Sami and accepted the changes she made to the original agreement we had with Maggie.
So imagine my shock and horror when I recieved an email today saying that they were cancelling our wedding because we had no contract and we were too difficult to deal with. (Funny how suddenly there is no contract, when every argument Sami made was regarding the contract we had with Maggie). I can also assure you that I was not difficult to deal with. In fact, I have the entire string of emails between myself and Sami that show I was completely professional and polite the entire time!
My wedding date is now 10 months away and I have no venue because of the despicable customer service at this hotel. DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE! No bride deserves to be put through stress like this!

Food took awhile I ordered eggs benny, sent it back they were cold and had the wrong side
Second order came back hot but with very little sauce asked for more. Once I got to eat them it was very good. My husband has steak and eggs, they were average.

We booked this hotel in the summer months of 2012 for our wedding which was September 2013. We were very impressed with how great it looked with the renovations. The ball rooms were nice neutral colors that happened to go very nice with my wedding colors. and the ample parking for guests and the buffet options were selling features for us. The Manager in that department to was great and he was so helpful and said he’d deliver on many great perks as well if we booked there.
Unfortunately he left and a new manager stepped in to fill his shoes. First thing we get is the new revised menu options and prices. Did they ever go up in price and for only maybe half the amount of food options as before. Of course menus and prices can change slightly but this was insane! I do have to give them some props as they did give us very close to the original menu we picked and for the same price. But that was the first of many frustrations not just for myself but my wedding planner.
The new manager Karima I believe her name is who is also the daughter of the owner of the hotel was so horrible to deal with. Don’t expect her to ever get back to you or answer any of your questions and we didn’t even get our invoice until ONE WEEK before the wedding. And that was only because my mother-​in-​law did a drop in visit and didn’t leave until she gave her one. We had received one or two via email but they were incorrect everytime.
She had also messed up on the appointment we made to come taste the food and pick our buffet menu. So we showed up and the chief had nothing prepared because she told us the wrong date. So we had to come back the following week and my husband had to book off again from work as they only do them during the weekdays.
We had also asked for family style at the head table but they did plated service instead, another mistake on her part.
She caused so much extra stress on myself before the wedding it’s to bad she soured my experience their. She was just so scattered and kept forgetting things, my wedding planner had to really stay on top of things with her.
The good things I will say though is the new tower that they build is nice to stay in, nice new construction. All the guests said the food was amazing and the desserts they had out. And they have a great hot midnight snack option to send out later in the evening.
The free breakfast is also pretty good too. Just be in store for some headaches, sleepless nights and frustration if you are thinking about having your wedding here. Their are a bunch of other really unprofessional things she did and screw ups done that I just can’t think of off hand. I’ve been trying to block the bad memories from my wedding and they all relate to dealing with her.

I remember coming to this hotel in 2012 for business breakfast meetings and it was still during their renovations. I had forgotten about it until I saw the new sales person, Michael Alagachandra, at another event. He encouraged our admin coordinator and I to come check out the hotel now that the renos had been completed.
What we found was absolutely incredible! This hotel is nestled in an industrial area of Edmonton, but that gives quick access to Anthony Henday, Sherwood Park Freeway, and downtown is about a ten minute drive.
The rooms was spectacular. I’ve recently done tours at the Delta, and these rooms are right up for there for design and quality. Just amazing.
The lunch was absolutely incredible. Michael invited the chef, Chef Indie, to join us and say hello. The chicken lunch was beautiful, and then came the dessert — this absolutely, mouth-​watering, soft and creamy, delicious cheesecake that cleared my memory of all cheesecakes before this one.
After this hotel tour, I have now changed my wedding room block to the Edmonton Hotel and I anticipate leaving another great review in August.

I am with the Dean Graziosi Events and the conference room used was great. The chairs were prepared and a water station readily available. The internet was quick and for the most part it was a great experience.

This lodge like hotel is an awesome stay if you are in the west Edmonton industrial area. I was here visiting our shop and it was a very short drive. Front entrance is beautiful, with lots of seating, space and a fireplace — just like a ski resort. Very cozy! Front desk offers cookies and fruit while they get you checked in, and the staff are warm and very friendly. I heard the hotel itself was renovated recently, so everything in the rooms was clean and new. O
The bed is super comfortable! Bathroom amenities are nothing special, rooms come with microwave, mini fridge, awesome tv, free wifi, the standard stuff. Showerheads are awesome.
The best part of his hotel is the breakfast. Free breakfast, and not the crappy one egg one toast kind. Full buffet of fruit, cheese, yogurt, scrambled (real) eggs, bacon strips, toast, croissants, cereals. Impressive for a free breakfast.
The only qualms about this hotel is the pool and parking lot. The pool is kind of bleh, and showing signs of great age. Not very well lit and you can see the scummy stuff at the bottom of the hot tub. The parking lot upon entering has a very deep and deadly pot hole. I don’t even think you can call it a pot hole, it was big enough to get a guy in a pick up truck to be disgruntled so watch for it while you are entering, it’s on the left hand side.
Room service was just ok, the ribs I had were not so fresh. There’s an automatic $ 5 gratuity fee. Especially because they didn’t put chocolate sauce on my banana split. How could you deny me of chocolate sauce! *tear*
I believe they are on the upside of improving, but I know it takes time to work out the kinks. Would stay again, since the prices are reasonable and there’s many good reasons to.
