Better selection than subway. Comparable prices, service at this location is firendly but slow. TIP: if you are coming here for lunch try and get here right at noon to beat the rush!

Although Quiznos is a franchise and their meal standards are to the same across the board I wouldn’t bet on getting your favorite kind if sub at this location. The staff was not polite, they did not talk at a volume at which you could hear them behind the counter, nor did they even greet me when I came in. My sub tasted okay but it certainly didn’t have anything extra to it… Nor was it handled with care. Thumbs down to the staff at this location.

The Quiznos chain is near the top of my list for fresh and healthy fast food places. This particular location, not so much. Today I had the honey bourbon chicken. It was okay. I give two stars today mainly because of lack of inside seating.

I stumbled across Quizno’s a few years ago when they started offering their«Sammies», small flatbread bread sandwiches with a variety of toppings for $ 1.99 each. I never really believed the whole, «Toasted tastes better» motto they used to use, but the Sammies were great, cheap, quick and full of great flavours(bacon, ranch, cheese, hot sauce, etc). You could order a couple and be sated for less than $ 5. Then over time, as Quizno’s realized how popular they were and how much time it took to make them, they started raising the prices on Sammies, and eliminated a couple of choices [bye, bye Spicy Chicken Sammie :(]. Because of that, I stopped going, mostly because nothing else on the menu seemed worth all that great. However, bored with the usual places, we dropped into this Quizno’s a month or two ago and were pleasantly surprised by our visit. The Sammies were still around, but cost $ 3.49 each! However, they were quite a bit bigger than in the past, so it was a fair deal once again. I ordered a couple and figured I’d try the Classic Club sub on Rosemary Parmesan bread. All I can say is wow! The sub had a great combination of flavours was incredible and I’m a convert into the whole toasting thing now — I just love how the oven crisps bacon! But the best thing was that this location offers a variety of free veggies on their subs and Sammies now. Best of all, they really load it up — other Quizno’s locations around town are far cheaper with the extra veggies than this location is. Eating a sub at this location is like getting a sub and salad for the same price. Now some people might say, who gives a damn about veggies? Well I do. If I just wanted to scarf down 50 g of fat, I’d go to McDonald’s or Burger King instead. I’m no longer a young kid and I like to watch what I eat — and if this location is going to give me a handful of lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, cucumber slices and mushrooms on my sub for free(they also offer jalapenos, pepperoncini peppers, olives and a couple other choices), then I’m choosing that place over most burger joints when I’m looking for a snack or late night meal. Others might say, well so does Subway. Sure they do, but most locations are pretty skimpy on veggies. The prices at Quizno’s are also slightly better and I think the food is higher quality — the meat isn’t processed meat, but real sliced turkey and smoked bacon and so on. Honestly, if you’re looking for a great snack that is still somewhat healthy, drop by this Quizno’s location and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

As far as fast-food subs go, Quizno’s at one time topped my ilst with its loaded, toasted subs; although the menu is packed with choices I’d typically go for the honey bourbon chicken sandwich and leave full and satisfied. Over the years and at various locations, I’ve noticed the subs seem to have shrunk in size and the ingredients become a little less commendable in quality and quantity than they once were. But my last visit to Quizno’s was somewhat enlightening; it appears that, without all those little hot peppers blinding me, I’m not so crazy about Quizno’s after all. It was my first stop into this particular location and I was sad to see that they didn’t have a condiment bar — the store I frequented in Toronto provided a little station with pump jars of barbecue sauce, honey mustard dressing, and, of course, the yummy little hot peppers they offer with sandwiches. I ordered a tuna sub, received the tuna sub, and lingered a little at the till but soon realised that no little plastic cup of hot peppers would be forthcoming. I sat down and ate my sandwich. And thought. Head to head, a tuna sub from Quizno’s pales in comparison to a tuna sub from Subway. And now that Subway will toast your sub for you, why was I sitting in Quizno’s eating a sub-par sandwich? The answer was clear: the hot peppers. And that’s all. Will I be going back to Quizno’s? Probably. Or maybe I’ll just do the smart thing and buy a jar of hot peppers.
