While I am admittedly pretty darn in love with the pretty chocolate fountain at the City Center Mall location I still try and give as much of my business as possible to my neighborhood Purdy’s in Londonderry. The staff here are pretty nice and I can’t remember a time where I have stopped in and haven’t been greeted immediately upon entering the store. Due to the fact Londonderry is far quieter then most of the other malls that house Purdy’s locations it is also very easy to get assistance with picking out purchases and getting recommendations for what to buy for that discerning chocolate lover on your shopping list. Despite the fact it is a smaller store I have still always been able to find everything here that I would at any of the other locations and if your a white chocolate lover like myself you will definitely not be disappointed with a purchase from Purdy’s. I have tried both higher and lower price points for chocolate and I still believe nobody beats Purdy’s when it comes to taste and texture. Don’t take my word for it however… go try some for yourself!

Purdy’s is great. I can’t think of anyone who would not like this place. Even if you don’t like chocolate this place can hold a special spot in your heart. They don’t have only chocolate but they also have great ice cream that is possibly some of the best in the city. If you have a sweet tooth you might want to steer clear because you will find yourself wanting to buy everything. They don’t just have regular candies but they have them in cool shapes and sizes and neat designs. They have chocolates that make great stocking stuffers.

Who doesn’t love Purdy’s? I think I practically grew up on their chocolate hedgehogs. They’re cute and delicious at the same time. At first you think they’re too cute to eat, but then you take the first heavenly bite and realize you just ate its whole family in a matter of minutes. These little guys are shaped like real mini hedgehogs and are filled solid with Purdy’s signature milk chocolate; they’re not hollow. They are sold in packs of various sizes, from small to large, to suit different gift needs. I usually see people lining up at the counter in the summer, because they have some of the best ice cream ever. Their stuff rivals that of the Marble Slab Creamery! The best combination at Purdy’s is their classic vanilla dipped in crushed nuts, with a little bit of chocolate sauce if you want, all in a waffle cone. Mmm … can’t wait til summer again! I also like to come here post-Halloween, because that’s when all their Halloween candies go on sale. I like getting the gummies shaped like Dracula teeth; it’s fun to eat. So whether you’ve got a sweet tooth or are picking up a gift for someone who does, you can’t go wrong with Purdy’s.

If I get gum stuck to my shoe, I go to Purdy’s. If I get a bad grade on a paper, I go to Purdy’s. If I find no reason to feel crappy, I still go to Purdy’s. I am a chocolate lover, and Purdy’s definitely has some great tasting chocolates, and it’s why I’ll use almost any excuse to come here. Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s worth every penny. I’ll usually just buy a few individual chocolates for myself. I love their Java Jives and Orange Wedges. The chocolate bars they sell are so melt-in-your-mouth delicious too, and they are a good, cheaper option. I especially like the one with rice crisps in it. I also come here every Christmas, and I buy at least a couple boxes of chocolates as gifts. No one is ever disappointed, and I can actually see their eyes light up, when they see the Purdy’s name. So I urge you… if you love chocolate, find an excuse and indulge in some Purdy’s.
