I just went for my first float ever and had a blast. Staff was incredibly polite and walked me through the entire process. Being in the ‘bath’ takes a little getting used to, but once you’re settled in it’s very relaxing. Highly recommend it to anyone who has struggled to find a reliable stress reliever.

First came here after receiving a gift voucher from friends for Christmas, after talking about wanting to try floating in a sensory deprivation tank. Met Matt and J.P. when I arrived and both of them were very friendly and laid back, gave me a run down of what to expect on my first float, and overall made me feel very welcome at their new facility. Location is great, central with plenty of parking. The new facility is still being setup, but rooms are spacious, showers and everything provided, and the tanks themselves are wonderful. My experience was one that was extremely relaxing, I found that I quickly lost track of time and that it is a great way to unwind. Post float both Matt and J.P. were there, and we ended up chatting for a long time after. 2 great guys who really are passionate about what they are setting up, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone who just wants to try something new and likes the idea of having a chance to unwind.

Floating in a sensory deprivation tank… what has my life become? I was interested in checking out what floating was after hearing about Joe Rogan’s experience and the benefits he received from it(remember him as the host of Fear Factor, UFC commentator, stand-up comedian, radio personality, he does it all really). I thought it was all rubbish, but curiosity got the best of me. I do a lot of yoga and practice meditation. I even went to Rishikesh, India(the birthplace of yoga) and learned different meditation techniques out there. However, when I’m back in North America, I find it really difficult to get in the zone and quiet my mind with my busy lifestyle. That’s when I really decided to try out what an isolation tank could do for me. I met up with Jamie Phillips(or J.P. as he likes to be called) and Matt Smith for my first experience with floating. They have recently moved to a commercial space now with SIX floating tanks, but when I went for my first time, they were operating only ONE floating tank out of the basement of their house! I have to admit, it felt sketchy going into somebody’s house trying something out like this, but I’m really glad I did. They led me down to their basement to get my 60-minute session started. When I went inside the tank and closed the door behind me, I felt how warm the water was. They heat the water to the same temperature as your body and add epsom salt, which makes your body very buoyant(extra floaty). J.P. told me the water is filled with magnesium as well which is amazing for sore, tired muscles. I laid back in the water not knowing what to expect. I was initially afraid I would drown, but since the salt water kept my body so buoyant, I was easily able to float and relax with no issues. I really lost track of time when I was in there as if I completely separated from the craziness of reality. I really enjoyed my first experience with floating, and I experienced it many more times after that. Luckily, it was in their new business location and not in their ghetto basement! Their new tanks are incredible though. The air-quality is truly incomparable to other tanks I have tried in the past. Floating is an experience, not a service, and when I really need a break from the stress that accompanies life or need to think deeply about something I am going through, a float does my mind and my body good. I do notice my muscles really loosen up from the added magnesium in the water, so it’s extremely refreshing after a hard workout or when I need my spine to align correctly. Thanks to J.P. and Matt for bringing this amazing experience to the Edmonton area! Pros: –Great experience being in complete isolation –Calms my mind and helps me escape everyday stress –Loosens up my sore muscles after a hard workout –Quiet environment to help me relax –Value(like a mini vacation without ever leaving) –Very clean Cons: –It was a bit sketchy to try the floating tank out of their house, but this was all solved when they opened up their commercial space with SIX tanks! You really need to experience one of these new tanks.
