I purchased a gown(+$ 2400)at Hugo Boss that only needed to be shortened. Unfortunately, the usual seamstress for store was on holidays for a few weeks. I was immediately hesitant when the store recommended Mina’s. My beloved salesmen, Jared, at Boss assured me Mina’s was worthy of working with my dress. We walked over together, he witnessed the fitting and addressed poor measuring and my dress was left. Two weeks later, with excitement in my stride, I walked into Mina’s for my dress. Wearing the brown version of the shoes I had worn to the fitting, I went to try on my beautiful gown. Immediately, it was apparent they butchered the dress. It was 3 inches too short at least. They argued that my shoes were different. Lectured me non stop. I was near tears. I don’t own a pair of heels shorter than 4″. The fight was on. They denied all wrong doing. Hugo Boss searched Hugo Boss internationally to find me a replacement as few of these were produced. In the end, the fight came down between Boss and Mina’s but I will NEVER use or recommend them ever. Now wedding gown shopping, I walk completely around their store. Don’t risk it! It’s not worth it.

The store itself is cramped and disorganized, and as a previous Unilocaler has stated, the carpet is disgusting. When one of my maids and i walked in, we were greeted quite rudely, and asked what we wanted. Okay… I said I was getting married and we were looking for dresses. The lady said Okay. No direction, no What are you looking for… We started browsing and picked out a few things for my ‘maid to try on. They didn’t offer us any further service, even though we were serious customers. My wedding is next May. I have a wedding planner, I fiancé, two bridesmaids, a fully fledged budget… but I have no engagement ring. I don’t even know if I’m going to get one, and people(even some people who could be getting my business) think I may not be a serious customer without one. This store was one of those. She looked at my hand, saw it was empty, and dismissed us. There was a girl there with her mom for her final prom dress fitting, and they where getting great service; I guess it was because the store already had their money. I would not recommend.

My brother’s wife to be ordered bridesmaids dresses in Grande Prairie, however I do not live there and the only place that sells DaVinci Bridesmaids dress is Mina’s Bridal & Prom. I will say I am not a fan of the dress, I am getting married and there is no way I would have picked these for myself. It’s not my day, which is fine but the dress itself was $ 250 and that does not include alterations. I ordered the dress and recieved it months later, which is fine. So I went to pick up the dress with my Mom and this is where it went downhill… We are standing at the entrance of the store and we noticed all these shoes on the floor. Which is fine as we both know in bridal stores that is normal, but we just bought our shoes in the mall and asked if we could wear them in as we were barefoot. Plus looking at that carpet, it was disgusting and I am not being overdramatic it was gross! I would never put my barefeet on that nasty carpet, neither would my Mom. Their response was no you can’t, so we we kind of confused as they are wearing shoes… so my Mom asked«Well your wearing shoes?» the lady responds«I work here!» so your telling me SHE changes her shoes before she walks out of the store, I highly doubt it?! Anyhow, since we bought our shoes, we had socks with us as they provide you with no slippers to wear on their nasty carpet! I put on the socks, went in and picked up the dress and didn’t try it on as there is no way in hell I am going to get my alterations done there! Plus, on my way out I informed another destination bride like myself to go to Novelle Bridal as they treat you like the queen you are, and have hardwood floors and slippers! Oh and no attitudes to boot. Lesson learned, I will never go there again, plus do not treat my Mother with no disrespect!
