McDonald’s

Free coffee for the week in posting this (across McDonald’s Canada) and happy staff with interesting takells to tell gives me a happy moment.
Three-​star quality food, hyper-​consistent but soulless, is what it is.
At least there’s the free coffee, while it lasts, and the happy staff and their tales.

While the staff here try their best, occasionally there are patrons around during my late night visits who cause trouble. One night, the cops were interviewing a white fella who locked out some visible minority kids he claimed had hopped him in the face and had taken his smartphone (not necessarily in that order). That was a regular laugh riot, especially with a manager chasing after the white guy to inform him that locking the doors was against the law. The kids kept coming in and out of the store, and eventually a considerably tougher white fella who is down on his luck nosily came to the defense of that other white guy with some good old fashioned aggression. Swell. Just swell. That’s the kind of excitement I look for in a fast food joint!

I’ve never been a huge fan of McDonald’s, but I do like their coffee. Cheap and tasty.

Not rating the food, which is the same as every McDonalds. The staff here might be the most incompetent of any McDonalds I’ve been to. They’ve managed to lose people’s orders on a regular basis, often mess up simple instructions such as «no pickles», and you can look forward to slowly melting ice caps while idling your car for 10 – 15 minutes in the drive-​thru in the middle of the afternoon. Went here for breakfast once, and my order sat on their «ready to go» shelf for 15 minutes. Was refused a refund by cashier, only reluctantly given one by the manager. Horrible, horrible McDonalds. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Line was slow and the bathroom looked/​smelled like crap. Cant blame them tho, mcdonalds is prob understaffed and they did look like they where swamped.
