This is just the standard Mac’s Convenience Store. It offers the same general services as most others: Frosters, convenience food, odds and ends, and has a CIBC bank machine. While it has ample parking, it doesn’t feature a gas bar. Still it is a popular location particularly as it is adjacent to a liquor store and is located right on Jasper Avenue. I do not recommend loitering around here as it often attracts an unusual crowd, not all of whom are friendly.

There are three constants with this location: 1) Drunks puking on the sidewalk on the weekends. 2) Homeless asking for change on any given night or day. 3) Spray paint on either side of the building. Now the first two I can’t do much about and I don’t honestly care. I just avoid going there. The 3rd point I call 311 to literally force the owner to get the graffiti removed. They need to understand the broken window effect. If some dummy criminal tags their stupid name on a wall, and it stays up there, soon you have other sheepeople morons tagging the place. I’ve called 311 on this location three times in two years because they can’t do it on their own. It just attracts crime. I’d know. I work at night right by this place for that last five years. They also let homeless pretty much take ownership over the sidewalk out front. Maybe they got sick of calling the Police but you can ask them to leave and most of the time they will. I just don’t think they care. Avoid this location and go to the nicer one just three blocks west on the same ave.

This macs is convenient and that’s pretty much going for it. Hard to find parking when you most need it due to the liquor store nothing like the store 3 blocks west

They’ve just reno’ed this Mac’s location, and I was expecting to see something a little more elaborate and flashy, like the awesome glass-fronted Mac’s a little further west on Jasper Ave. Instead, they gutted the place and put it back together looking much the same, if not emptier, than before. But for those last-second necessities, hey, a convenience store is a convenience store, right? And the staff are definitely friendly — they’ve always let me use their microwave for veggie burritos I’ve bought at Shoppers in the middle of the night.
