I have found few Long McQuade stores that didn’t impress me and this little location has been no exception. From instruments to amps for my kids their staff has always been very helpful and supportive. When you ask a question that anyone with the slightest musical experience should know the answer to you don’t get the«look» from staff. They ask my kids if they want to plug an instrument in or see how an amp sounds. They made a sale out of what would have been a browse by volunteering to unpack a drum pad so my 11 year old could try it. I know musicians are generally a friendly bunch, but I really like shopping there, and nobody gets agitated when I just come to visit my favourite guitars for a few minutes. Keep up the good work.

I’m not a musician … actually, I pretty much have no musical talent whatsoever. But I still have random inclinations to learn things, and sometimes that means buying instruments or music. I find that the prices here are pretty fair, and they have a really good selection. I’m usually in here trying to buy something that I know next to nothing about, and I’ve found the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable. They also let me try out pretty much anything I want … even though I usually have no idea what I’m doing! Normally I’d feel embarrassed about that, but for some reason I’m really comfortable in this store. Gordon Price also sells some trinkets like music-themed Christmas ornaments, if you’re into that sort of thing(or know someone who is).

For years I have found the staff at GPM very welcoming. When it was time for me to buy my first brand new guitar, this store was simply convenient among three others along the blue mile but was the only store willing to let me try every guitar in the store in the most literal sense where others would show fading interest(not an unreasonable attribute). For that reason alone they gained my business. Now it is an inconvenient trek but one I still make when I plan to purchase something larger.

Gordon Price Music has the best selection of music and music teaching materials in the city. They provide music of all sorts from classical, pop, rock, traditional and whatever you can imagine — for most main stream instruments. If there is something special you need they usually can order it in. Being a piano teacher I appreciate the teacher discount they provide. They also reimburse your parking if you spend more than $ 20 in the store. Gordon Price Music also provides workshops from notable presenters on music book lines, music theory and other topics of interest. If you’re a member or a teacher and are on their mailing list you’ll be made aware of when these take place. Not only does Gordon Price sell music, but also great teaching aids and musical novelty items, which is great for anyone musical in your life. Their staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about music — go figure — and are always there to lend a hand. I’ve called ahead and asked for books to be held for me which they’ve done without hesitation. That alone makes me return on a regular basis for my teaching materials.

Gordon Price Music is a nice little music shop located on Whyte. It should be able to handle all your music desires. They carry lots of books on music and have a good selection of instruments. The staff is really helpful and if you are just starting out they are very patient. They will help you pick out the perfect instrument for you. If you are a musician it is always worth stopping in this store when you are on Whyte.

This is the first place I go to for any of my musical needs. They have a good selection of books and sheet music, and a variety of instruments. I bought a guitar here a couple years ago and I found it to be much more pleasant than most of my previous music store experiences. The staff helped me pick the perfect guitar, without the pretentiousness that I’ve often experienced at music stores. The people at Gordon Prices are friendly, helpful, and even threw in a couple strap locks for free with my new guitar.

Gordon Price Music is the first local music store at which I started shopping, and I still drop in here on a regular basis. My first guitar came from here. I used to buy sheet music and songbooks by my favourite bands all the time. I still buy my guitar strings, picks, and other accessories here. The prices on guitar strings are excellent. I have also picked up drumsticks, a practice pad, harmonicas, and some other small wind and percussion instruments. For students, there is a lot of instructional books, blank music paper, and Royal Conservatory materials. There are a also lots of music-related gift items.
