Best Hong Kong style fast Chinese food in Edmonton. And very reasonably priced. Decore sucks but who cares are you eating the décor ?. Try the beef brisket !

Not my favourite. The seafood in my soup didn’t taste quite right, but I have to be honest that I don’t much care for seafood.

I’ve been here a few times already, because I love the no-frills experience it gives me. After eating out at other restaurants that deliver ambiance but kill appetite(and not in a good way), coming to Leon’s is like coming home for some nice home-cooking, without actually being at home and having to cook for myself. It’s a small restaurant, with old Chinese music playing in the background, mixed with the sound of plates and a frying wok in the kitchen. The kitchen is visible from the seating area, and you can see the chef work and then place your dish on the pick-up window for the waitress, just like on tv. I think the older lady who serves us owns the restaurant with her husband. She’s really sweet, and the overall service is very fast. Today we had the beef and Szechuan chow mein, with the salted fish and chicken fried rice. The chow mein was alright, with plenty of onions, carrots, and green peppers, but there was a bit more black pepper in it than I would have liked. The noodles were good though — crispy but softer once the sauce settled in. The salted fried rice was good, with lots of chunks of tender chicken. They have a large menu with different varieties for everything though, so don’t limit yourself to these recommendations if you do go. It’s pretty cheap to get a full meal here too. My partner and I had dinner for $ 18 for both of us. It’s cash only though, so be sure to have it on you. Take-out is also available.
