When I visit any Koryo location, I’m stuck with two difficult decisions: a) do I want the jumbo with all the meats and sides or b) am I less hungry and so would just get the vegetarian option with 4 sides? Why? Because I adore their sides! The garlic potatoes are so good! And the veggies and the noodles and etc. Realistically I wish there were more options with 4 sides than just these two!(Most menu options offer only 2 sides). I really like the sauce too — it makes the rice much more delicious than it otherwise would be. Portion sizes are substantial. And sure while Koryo isn’t the cheapest of food court options, it doesn’t leave you hungry. This is probably the best chain food court option in this food court.

Okay so the garlic potatoes are too die for and the meat is succulent and sweet! Pretty average prices for food court fare, $ 20 for 2 people to dine. Keep in mind that you get your choice of two sides in addition to your choice of meat and two big ice cream scoop servings of rice. Staff were super polite and friendly as well.

Good size portions. Try the potatoes and the bbq sauce on your beef… to die for!!! Everytime I go to the mall I eat here.

After walking around the food court at Southgate, I decided to try Koryo. I don’t have much experience with Korean food, but anything I’ve ever tried at other Korean restaurants(back in Montréal) I’ve liked, and I love short ribs. I ordered the Jumbo special, which really was massive. Two scoops of rice, 4 choices of the sides [they don’t skimp out on the servings; tried broccoli(simple and perfectly cooked), garlic potatoes(crispy and tasty), bean sprouts(in a light dressing, nice and crunchy), and glass noodles(so good — al dente noodles, with crunchy garlicky shredded carrot and cabbage)], 3 deep fried potstickers(forgettable), a grilled chicken thigh(unfortunately no skin but still good), two small pieces of beef and a large piece of short rib. And a soft drink. If they ask you if you want sauce, say yes — it tastes like honey and garlic and soy sauce and is so delicious drizzled on everything. Reminds me of my dad’s barbeque sauce, as well as the bourbon chicken at Famous Wok. Yum. Oh and at $ 9.99+tax, it was a fantastic deal! Make sure you get it in a to-go container, just in case you don’t finish it. I can eat quite a bit in one sitting but didn’t finish it — though I think it was more because I wanted to save some for a yummy afternoon snack. A nice change from the typical fast food and fast food chains. Recommended!

Ryan and I were shopping at Southgate, and I was craving Opa Greek food, so I went and picked up some souvlaki and Ryan went and got some chicken and beef from Koryo. I figured his food was going to be gross. Like really, a Korean BBQ in a food court? I was not expecting him to enjoy his meal at all. But when he brought the food to the table, I was pretty jealous. His plate was filled with broccoli, two round scoops of rice, a chicken thigh and some beef strips. I had to try it just to find out and it was so good! There was a little side of Korean BBQ sauce that sort of tasted like chipotle mayo that was great to dip the meat into. My only complaint was that the broccoli was cold, which was a real turn off for me. His whole meal only cost him $ 10 and it was really good. I definitely underestimated Koryo Korean BBQ!

Koryo was a pleasant surprise. I don’t know where it came from or when it arrived but I had never heard of it before and decided to give it a try. The place stood out from all the other fast food spots in the food court. It looked modern, trendy and actually a bit fancy. The food was amazing and not what I expected at all. I expected low quality food like the rest of the stuff in the food court but I should of known better by the looks of the place. Not only was it delicious, it was cheap. Around $ 7 for a huge serving. It was enough to serve 2 people. It has become one of my favorites.
