This place is a hidden gem! I had my birthday party here and my family and friends were very well taken care of. We were given access to the full Yannis menu upstairs, except the cheese was not allowed to be lit but it still tasted amazing. They even sent down a very gleeful belly dancer that got the party started. Overall an excellent night with delicious food, as usual, and great staff. I will definitely be returning to Kasbar.

Oh, Kasbar, you had me at Moussaka. There were 4 of us, so we split the meal for four($ 110 for 4, which is A LOT of food). I just had my birthday celebration with friends last night. Going through the basement of Yianni’s was like going through a zone warp to Morocco, with the sun sconces and colourful lamp pillars. Awesome service. Food was amazing, followed by drink specials. Make sure you try their Calamari — possibly the best in town, when accompanied with tzatziki sauce. It is definitely on my list of great places in Edmonton to celebrate special occasions.

Kas Bar is one of my favorite lounges in Edmonton. It has the same menu as Yiannis, upstairs, but has a very different atmosphere/environment. When I’m there, I don’t feel like I’m in Edmonton anymore. The décor is exotic and relaxed, Its a perfect place to go for an intimate meal or drink

The Kasbar is located in the basement of Yianni’s, a Greek restaurant on Whyte Avenue. It is a very unique looking space with lighting accents, sofas, tables, and a bar. It is used by The Raving Poets for their weekly poetry jam, as well as for other arts and cultural events. I came here for the first time as part of a networking event and found Kasbar to have a very bohemian feel to it. The bartenders were very friendly and seemed to be having a great time. It’s a great place to grab a casual drink and there are lots of out of the way tables and seating areas for conversation.
