I love hats, and wish there were more opportunities to wear them that are more than just a way to hide a bad hair day. There are a few charity events that encourage fabulous hats and being able to shop for new outrageous headwear makes me feel more charitable to everyone, even the crazy drivers that don’t understand who has the right of way at more than a few of our intersections. I went to both Headcase locations to check out the full inventory and found a few possibilities for a fashionable garden party style afternoon tea. Frankly I’d hoped for more options, but I realize that type of hat is in less demand than the fedoras and caps that get worn in ordinary life. I want a hat less ordinary. The prices were very reasonable and there was a very wide selection suitable for daily wear. I did buy one that made me happy and can’t wait to wear it. The owner was very very helpful at the 124 St location(which has less stock than the Whyte Ave location), and guided me through a variety of styles, giving recommendations on how to wear(jaunty!) and care for different hats. I hope I get invited to more hat wearing events!
