History

Established in 2005.

The business was formulated by a love for design and love for construction.

Quality and care seemed to be missing from the marketplace and soon-after a National first placement in Canadian House and Home Annual design competition business began to spread t’s wings. A new studio was designed to facilitate a place where clients & designers could consolidate over plans and espresso while the studio remain adjoined but separate.

The love for fine art framing and conservative framing for artwork has come back to the studio after an absence from it. Clients have now found us from the previous business Strange Frames on Whyte Avenue and wish to continue their business relationships they had with us prior to the opening of gordonbuilt studio.

The Studio was beautifully designed by Shelterbelt Architecture and modelled after the modern resource of James B. Wensley’s house it sits beside. A separate entrance to the studio takes you on a journey down through the tall trees on an elevated path.
