This is a great coffee shop. Their lattes are smooth and delicious, the snacks are fresh and they have gelato! It’s really everything that you need. Located in South Edmonton Common this location is almost always pretty busy but I’ve never not been able to find a seat. The interior is clean, all white and red and European. They even have a little fireplace and some leather seating near it, just great ambience. Service is consistently good and prices are on-par with any other coffee shop. I usually get a flavoured latte, today I had the hazlenut and it didn’t disappoint. My friend had the caramel one which I have had before and it is also very good. Not too sweet or heavy. And since they are licensed, if you’d rather have a shot of booze in your coffee you can go right ahead. I like it here! I’m not in the area often enough to frequent it, but when I am I always like to pop in.

I’ve never been a big fan of the typical ‘Italian coffee,’ but I thought I’d give this place a try. The menu is filled with Italian treats — coffee, pastries, even some frozen pastas. The menu items are mainly in Italian, but there are explanations of each item. I tried one of their specialty coffees(Bacino) for about 5 dollars. I was surprised by how sweet it was — Italian coffee is often known for being strong and dark, but this was milky and sweet. Not a bad drink if you’re into the Starbucks style ‘too much sugar, not enough coffee’ kind of espresso. Personally, this isn’t something I would have again. The storefront was clean and pleasant, with plastic rounded chairs — very comfortable and clean. A good spot for working or hanging out. I probably wouldn’t pay 5 dollars for a drink here again, but it wasn’t a bad stop. I didn’t get a chance to try any baked goods, but they did look delicious.

This is a respectable place to come for a quick lunch, an afternoon pick-me-up, or an evening treat! Nothing ever wows me here, but I do enjoying sitting in the comfy chairs by the fireplace, watching people out the window. In the winter it’s especially nice to bring a book and chill out. I don’t know if this is new, or I’m just THAT unobservant(I probaby am), but they sell pasta in a freezer on the back wall. One day I’ll have to try it. There’s gnocchi, a few types of ravioli, and cannelloni. It has to be better than the store brought frozen stuff!

I’ve been to this location a few times. Their paninis are fantastic! You have to try a latte from here. They make them to perfection. I hate lattes that are overly sweet, but here it’s a perfect balance of coffee, flavour and milk. For a sweet treat, get a gelato. For $ 2.50 you get a generous scoop on a waffle cone. Prices here are very affordable. It’s my favourite lunch spot.

I got a caramel mochiato type drink and a breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich was ok, the drink was great. The interior of the store is a great place for a break and chat with friends while shopping.

A welcome break from the rest of SEC. As far as I can tell, this is on par with the rest of the Caffe Sorrentinos in town, with good coffees and Italian treats. They have a fridge in the back where you can pick up some fresh pastas. Inside has some nice cozy seating, and they have a patio outside when the weather is nice. Hide out here if you’re ever forced to take anyone to SEC.

I hadn’t been to a Sorrentino in a few years but being too early for a job interview at South Edmonton Common I decided to stop in for a beverage. I was a little dissapointed that the WiFi was either off or not working but the gentleman behind the counter was pretty friendly and made good conversation. He did a great job on my chai latte as it came out tasting creamy and not overly sweet. I also give bonus points for the heart he drew in the foam… it’s the little things sometimes that stick out in your mind and win you over sometimes. They have some amazing looking desserts but I did not partake this time. The whole place was sparkling clean and has a very warm and inviting atmosphere. I am a north side resident but if fate should lead me out that way again I would partake in this Sorrentino again for sure. I also give it’s owner kudos for the smart location planning. Being right next to Famoso it is a great place to drift over for a relaxing post dinner coffee after enjoying the amazing pizza over at Famoso.

While it may not be the best Caffe Sorrentio in the city, it sure is a welcome sight in South Common. Finally a place to get a decent cappuccino! They have free wifi, comfortable seating and a sleek clean room — I love sitting by the pipping hot fire place. All the desert treats from the downtown locations are there, as is the panini, pasta and soups. When you are out shopping in South Common make sure to think of CS when you need a break and a recharge. Oh and the Nutella Cornetto is amazing!

We have been on a search for the best coffee in town, and I think we found it. The lattes are amazing, they somehow get amazing designs in the foam, and the people are so friendly. I just wish it was closer, so great.

Great food. Love the panini sandwiches and the soup is delicious! When I visited a few years ago there was a lovely young woman who worked there who was so kind and helpful. And she made the best lattes! I returned every time I was in Edmonton. It was a quiet place to grab a bite, read the paper and relax. Unfortunately when I visited recently I found that she has been replaced with a couple of rude young ladies, who chose to pay attention to their smart phones instead of taking my order. When I finally did get their attention they glared at me, rudely told me that the sandwiches in the case were for display only. When I asked which sandwiches they had left, they seemed annoyed. When I inquired about the soup they seemed even more irritated. Apparently helping customers is inconvenient and exhausting! My panini was still delicious and the soup was good too. But the service was bad enough, that I’m not sure I will stop in again. Hopefully the management will see that these employees are damaging the overall dining experience here. Hope things change. If they do… I will return!

Lovely for your zuppe or ensalate! LOVE this little bistro for the paninis. The hubs opts for the Genovese(Chicken) and I generally stick to the Salmone or the Napoli(vegetable). Crispy, warm, gooey deliciousness. We’ll usually pair it with a bubbly Orangina, or on those really warm days I’ll treat myself to a blended banana caramello!(Better than ANY of those frothy, overpriced fraps or blended cremes elsewhere — in my books). Also — the other reason why we come is for cheap movie tickets too. Nice light dinner and movie option for us. For $ 16 you get a movie ticket and a panini — pretty sweet deal. If you go there and factor in the cost of a sandwich and then the subsequent cost of a cineplexodeon movie stub — you’d be crazy not to do it! Bön appetito!

A neat, Italian-style bistro with typical Italian fare: for a lighter meal, try a salad, soup, or panini. I had the caesar salad, and although I wish I had asked for the dressing on the side(it was too thick and goopy for my tastes), it was still a yummy lunch with tons of croûton.(Have I mentioned that I love carbs?) The menu also lists lobster lasagna and other heavier meals. My café latte was especially good, and my friends raved about the chocolate-hazelnut gelato. It was a pleasure to sit near the fireplace when it was such a terrible winter day outside! TVs in the corner with soccer games on kept us entertained, too.

Sorrentino is a decent café set in South Edmonton Common. I often come here while I’m waiting for my sister to get off work at Town Shoes, which is just a few stores to the right. I’m not a big coffee person(I only drink it if I need to stay awake at work) so i ordered some hot chocolate. It was good, maybe no the best hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted but still a worthy purchase. I’m happy they had soy milk, which is a great plus for me since I’m lactose intolerant.
