As the High Holidays approach, it’s time to take stock of what went right(or not) in the last year and to consider how to make things better. So for those who I have hurt either intentionally or not, please accept my apologies. I visited Beth Shalom during one Shabbat when I was undergoing some life difficulties. It’s a Conservative shul and represents a smaller, tighter knit, and more traditional community than what I’ve experienced in Northern California. Yet, the people here were friendly, warm, and sympathetic. The building itself is older, but modern, comfortable, and welcoming. And the Oneg was pretty good too!
