Ah! I had wanted to try Axehole for a long time and it didn’t disappoint. I had my excitement level at about a 9 or 10 and I think it delivered! First off, great job on signage, Axehole! It’s nice to have on-site parking(note, Axehole entrance is just around the corner off of 119 Street). Inside the complex, there’s great signage to guide you to the actual Axehole location. Inside I found the staff to be super friendly, the place clean and energy high! After signing what might just be the longest waiver ever, our group was brought into the throwing area and given the full run down. Like Kristin said, I was surprised and excited with how many different types of throws we were encouraged to try. The staff were always around and willing to show you some more throws as the night went on as well. At the beginning there was a huge group that came in — they were definitely celebrating something and they were having a lot of fun. Most of the lanes were booked and the five of us had our throwing lane with the two targets. As the place cleared out, we were allowed to take over more lanes, which was my favourite part. We had the freedom to play against each other, to take over our own lane and practice double throws(!) and just have fun. I found it like golf — you don’t have to hit the sh*t out of the ball in golf and you don’t have to throw the axes ridiculously hard. Therefore, I think everyone will enjoy, no matter your strength or strength zones(how do you know if axe throwing is your strength zone if you haven’t yet tried?). You’ll definitely be feeling it in your shoulder(s) and leg(s) from lunging! Whooo fun workout! Four stars instead of five for me as I found the booking process confusing. From the website, I was under the impression that you had to pre-pay to book spots, something I didn’t want to do for a group of us just in case… you know, life. Additionally, I thought you HAD to book two hours but having seen the large group come and go in an hour, I must be wrong. I found two hours to be a little long but 1.5 was perfect. One hour might have been too short to perfect the double throw(shout out to the Hubba Hubby who ROCKED the double throw, landing two axes in two different targets in the bullseye in one throw!)! Lastly, while I like the pointers from the staff, I know not everyone does. Unless the customer is doing something that is potential going to hurt them or others, I think it’s always better to ask if people would like some pointers. :)

Awesome time Little crowded if your on the side I think gate 5 – 8 or whatever but was a really great time Two hours is plenty of time to play any longer and it gets exhausting haha I had a blast I went with a group of 9 people and we had 4 lanes Good competitive game and fun to try your skills out and learn new things Worth doing at least once in your life! Good party event Cool boxes you pay 5 $ for and get a prize at the end when you axe it to hell

Went there with some colleagues a couple months back and had an excellent time. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great instruction on how it all works, the best way to make the axe stick. Overall a real good time. Highly recommended for some good fun.

Good clean fun, that is except for all the wood bits these fellas gotta clean up after you destroy the targets with ya axes! I gotta admit before we went, I was like how fun is axe throwing gonna be? Turns out prettayyy prettay fun! I was surprised at how buck wild we were allowed to get with the axes, over the shoulder throws, double axe throws, underhand throws, overhand throws, giant axes — all encouraged! We received a short tutorial and the axeholes were around watching our crazy throws the whole time(for safety sake). At first I was a little scared of my own power, but after a few throws, I was in my axe throwing element! I feel much better prepared to hold my own in the forthcoming zombie apocalypse because alls I’ll need is a 100’s of axes at my disposal to take care of business! If you’re looking to take out some axe wielding rage, this is the place for you! Check it out! My only critique is that the Viking mural in the front of house should have had a scantily clad man and woman instead of just a scantily clad woman. I wanna see some Viking man nips and bulges dang it! Equalize your sexualization!
