I just discovered this place last Saturday and I liked it so much I came back here again today! The restaurant offers breakfast every day until 4pm and both of my breakfast dishes that I had here have been delicious. The first dish I tried was the Breakfast Croissant for $ 8.29. It contains egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise. The croissant was lightly toasted which brought out the butteriness of the croissant. So good! but be aware, a little greasy from the butter, the bacon and the mayo. The second dish I tried was the Country Harvest for $ 11.99. You can order 2 eggs(any style), beef sausage, grilled potatoes and a slice of French toast or a pancake. I opted for poached eggs and the French toast. It also came with a healthy sampling of fresh fruit. It was all so very delicious. The eggs were poached perfectly. The beef sausage were HUGE and so delicious and satisfying. The grilled potatoes were lightly seasoned leaving you want more and the French toast finished the dish off nicely with the sweetness of the powdered sugar. The service I received both days was wonderful and attentive. The ambience is homey yet trendy and the price is very affordable. I think this may be one of my new go to breakfast/brunch places!

Until today we had been semi regular customers at Artisan where even paid parking is at a premium. I have always had money for the parking meters in front of the café however today I did not, when I asked for change to feed the meter so that I could have breakfast at the restaurant they informed us that they did not give out change for parking because it could leave the restaurant short of change. Now I understand where this might be a problem for Artisan however considering that there are several banks within a blocks distance getting more change for their business shouldn’t prove difficult but Artisan instead decided to dump the problem on their customers. It leads me to wonder where else they’re now short changing their customers. This of course forced us to drive else where for our breakfast. Because of this short sighted policy The Artisan has now lost me and my friends as customers forever. Make change out of that Artisan.

This is such a hole in the wall place on a weird part of Whtye Ave, and as such, I think it often gets overlooked. But, it shouldn’t. Really guys, this place is fantastic. The décor is cheesy, but the food is amazing. I’ve been here many times and can’t recall a thing I didn’t like. In particular their waffles are delicious and covered in a layer of berries. Their potatoes that come with most meals are also great. As is the bread(I love the sourdough and at lunchtime they have an olive roasted red pepper bread that is out of this world). Speaking of lunch, the Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast sandwich is delicious in it’s simplicity. I love how instead of adding a bunch of funky ingredients to something, they just class up the ingredients that would already be on the sandwich(like with the olive red pepper bread). Anyways, give this place a try next time you’e re taking a walk down this out of the way corner of Whyte. Or just because.

I’ve only visited Artisan once, but my experience was great! I’ve always been curious about the place, since their sunken patio on Whyte Ave always looks so cozy and appealing. My friend and I decided to go for a brunch date here, and I’m glad we did. I ordered a few items à la carte to compose my breakfast: basted eggs, butterflied sausage(extra well-done!) and some grilled tomatoes. Everything came out perfectly, which doesn’t happen often given my picky preferences for how my breakfasts are cooked. The server was attentive and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. I’ll definitely be back to Artisan for breakfast and lunch. And dessert too — they looked totally amazing in the pastry case!

For ambiance and atmosphere, this place is awesome. It’s also one of the few places on Whyte Ave that’s open early for Sunday breakfast. The staff were nice but the service was VERY slow — our bill never got brought to us, we had to go and get it from the front. The food was decent but nothing overwhelmingly good. Small portion sizes for the price. I would go here again for the atmosphere, or for a tea and a snack. It’s clean and bright and a great location. However, overall I expected a little better.

We walked past Artisan while taking a walk on Edmonton’s Whyte Avenue mid afternoon on Victoria Day. Remembering we had an Entertainment Coupon on my iPhone, we decided to check it out. Both of us ordered the Benny. I had the Classic $ 10.89, my better half the Veggie Delight offering $ 11.29. Service was quick and polite. Mine came with Black Forest Ham and Gruyère cheese on 2 English Muffins, home fried potatoes and a fruit garnish. Eggs were poached nicely done, medium as requested. Potatoes tasty with a little onion blended in. My better half had the Veggie delight that had pesto, spinach grilled tomato, gruyère and hollandaise. I found it was the good portion size. However, when asking about the cheese we we told it was sprinkled on. Truth is there was very little of it and it was camouflaged with the hollandaise sauce. Also my better half’s grilled tomato likely had seen better days. We did have to ask for sharper knives as the ones we were given we a little worn out. Other than that, all was good. Ash our server did a great job. I also liked that the restaurant gracious accepted the coupon which we find in some places is not the case.

This place is yummy. I have been here twice. The price is good for what you get and there is a lot of variety on the menu for breakfast. The only area where I feel they are lacking is with respect to service times. I find that the waitresses seem to forget about their customers. The waitresses don’t check back often enough and don’t believe in the 5 minute rule, whereby you check back with the customer within 5 minutes of dropping food.

We went there for our grandma’s birthday, and let me say we should have chosen somewhere else to go. First of all, we overheard our server saying she didn’t want to serve our table — so we wound up with another one who was new and knew nothing about the food. The food took a while and when it arrived it was average. I would liken it to that of Coras or tutti frutti, but smaller portions. Also, someone found a long HAIR in their food. The tip of the iceberg was when someone went to pay the bill and was waiting and wasn’t even acknowledged! And then a gentlemen walked up In front of them, and they were acknowledged and able to pay right away. Will not be returning.

The savoury crêpe was a treat! The ambience and music and staff, always feel a step above The normal Diner vibe that comes with breakfast places. Now I love a good diner! But if you wanna feel a little classier vibe and still spend $ 10 – 15 Artisan is where you ought to next eat breakfast!

We went here for breakfast and were told it was going to be a 45 min wait but we stayed anyway. The waitress was not lying, it took a good hour for our food. The food was pretty average. We were dissapointed in the amount of food we got though. The convos came with only 1 pancake or 1 piece of French toast. Don’t go if you have a big appetite!

The Artisan was a family favourite and personal favourite restaurant of mine for quite a few years. However, over the last year or so, there seems to have been a bit of a shift. The menu and food remains quite good while the service continues to degrade. It cannot be attributed to any one staff member but rather a severe lack of staff. With only one employee handling both hostess and waitress duties, it can lead to a hectic and slow experience. I’ve enjoyed the Artisan for the food but in today’s visit, we were forced to seat ourselves and were not approached or offered service for twenty minutes before we simply stood up and left. The location wasn’t very busy but again, there was only one employee working the floor to tend to the patrons! I feel bad for the employee. I can only hope that the service eventually returns to its former standard so I can enjoy a meal there again someday. But, until then I will be staying away.

I’ve been here a few times, and the food is always delicious. The menu is a bit outdated, but it’s hard to find a good crêpe in Edmonton so that’s why I like coming here. The service varies, however. The last time I was in, it was early in the morning and the restaurant was very empty. It took a long time for somebody to bring me my coffee, take my order, etc. Nobody asked how my food was, so it’s a good thing I liked it. The server also interacted with me and her other few tables weirdly, as though everyone was old friends. She wasn’t professional at all. I also watched her openly criticizing another server who appeared to be newer. I felt bad for him. This is a nicer place and I think the servers should behave accordingly at work.

Many hungover and non-hungover brunches had here — the breakfast special is always a great value. Definitely better than your average greasy spoon or franchise joint, family-run! Great vegetarian choices as well! Last night I needed a huge dessert last-minute for a family function, and they were nice enough to pull together something from their front cooler(and I was cutting it pretty close to closing time, too.) The pastries and cakes are expensive, but I can tell you I was the hit of the night when I showed up with them — absolutely delicious!

My Veggie Delight eggs Benedict was tasty, but the service was rather slow. The homemade crêpe is delicious, I’m interested in how a sweet one would be. The waitress was also sort of flighty, but she did own up to that. Overall, not a bad breakfast spot.

Having five star food and one star service means I am going to have to give this place a two. I came in for a BLT and peach flavored iced tea and couldn’t have been happier with what they served me. The iced tea tasted the exact same as the one I get a pizza place nearby but the one at Artisan was a dollar cheaper. The BLT could not have been more perfect. The bread was golden brown, the bacon was not fatty or greasy, and the tomato and lettuce were super fresh. It was like getting a ten dollar quality sandwich but only having to pay seven twenty five. Now onto the service if you could really call what I got there service. I sat down with my menu and waited then waited some more until finally the waiter showed up asking if I was ready to order. There was no trip to the table beforehand to see what I wanted to drink it was all just expected to be ordered in one shot. Thankfully I was the only table at the time waiting for food otherwise I can not imagine what the wait would have been like to get my lunch. So I finish my absolutely delicious lunch and then… yes you guessed it… the waiting game starts again. I looked up at the waiter as he made a couple passes by my table to see if he would stop to see how things were going but he never stopped at my table once to see how it was tasting, offer me a refill, or even give me my cheque. I finally got so fed up I just went to the front to pay. If you want an amazing lunch and happen to be near whyte this place will deliver that but sadly they don’t deliver much in the way of service. Bring a flare gun or the materials needed to send up a smoke signal when it’s time to get your cheque.

I always find it a little weird going to a breakfast spot and waiting in a ridiculous line at Cora’s or Hap’s before I can get some food. I’ve never had to wait at Artisan which is great for when I’m tired and grumpy. The décor is very breakfast restaurant neutral — taupe is in. The wait staff is always nice, the place is clean, and the coffee is drinkable when black. My first stop yielded Pacific Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and gruyère on croissant, the smoked salmon was alright and an english muffin would’ve been better than the croissant but it was a good dish. Hashbrowns were crispy and oniony which is a plus since more often than not hashbrowns are just ways to get ketchup into our systems. I’m going to end the review/story with the Mixed Berry Belgian Waffles. They’re ridiculously sweet, buttery, and delicious — I’d get them if I were me. The homemade whipped cream is a dream.

We ordered the ham and brie sandwich, and the gruyère mushroom bison burger sans the mushrooms for take out along with a cappuccino and americano. The staff was friendly and the ambience enjoyable while we waited. There may have been one table in the restaurant but im quite certain it was empty. It was a bit of a wait for the order, but when the server gave it to us, she ensured everything we could have needed was provided to us. That included salt, pepper, forks, and ketchup in the to-go bag. The ham and brie sandwich was a bit of a let down. The bread was exceptionally soft, but there was hardly any brie. Disappointing. The BF stated his burger was alright; neither was anything to write home about. The price point was good, and the service was friendly. The food simply lacked. I would give a 3.5÷5 overall.

First time at Artisan for Saturday brunch. For a party of four, it took us a total of an hour to eat, gab and go! Wonderful experience. I was greeted at the door with a «hello» and a smile. I pointed out that I’ve spotted my party already seated. As soon as I sat down, our waitress asked for my drink order and promptly came back. The place wasn’t overly busy, but the tables were taken care of, as far as topping off coffee cups and all that. As soon as we’ve decided on what to munch on, we looked up and the waitress was ready and willing and she was always around(not in a creepy way)! The syrup/ketchup/jam was laid out while we waited. I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was delightful, eggs made to order, it came with roast potatoes, chili, salsa, sour cream, side of fruit(check out the menu, I’m missing a few things lol). I was happy. The noise level is just right, mind you, we probably were louder than the other tables, cuz we gabbed and gabbed… anyway, definitely coming back to try the lunch and dinner menu, great experience overall.

This is a quaint little café that is nice to stop by to have a quick(and relatively inexpensive) lunch with your pals! Its definitely a step up from like… say… Tim Hortons. But don’t expect anything to blow your mind here. I sat out on the patio and it was quite nice. The service was friendly and the food was really good. I’ll definitely be back next time my friends and I are looking for a nice little place to grab a bite while shopping on Whyte, without paying an arm and a leg!
