I had a wonderful experience. She took her time to make my nails how I wanted. I only gave 4 stars and not 5 because it’s a bit more pricey than other places I go. Shellac I paid 30 where usually I pay between 25 and 30. But 5 star for the customer service and nail work :-) ** i had to edit my review to 3 stars as my shellec was chipping in less that a week, when that never happens to me :-(****

Would not recommend. Very painful.
Went for a mani-​pedi with two friends before a beach vacation. We made an appointment for 1pm, but were not seated for our pedicures until 1:40pm.
I waited another half hour for my pedicure to begin. Once it began it was fine, but then my technician began cutting my cuticles and digging in to them so hard that I asked her to stop. It was so painful. She insisted she needed to continue, which resulted in both of my big toes bleeding.
My manicure started near the end of my pedicure by another technician, was incredibly rushed, and many of my nails had patches with no polish.
After I left, both of my big toes were incredibly sore. A few days later I left for my vacation and found it very difficult to keep sand out of the gaping wound left on my big toe. I narrowly avoided a bad infection.
Won’t be going back.

My review is for waxing only, as I have never gotten another service here.
I have been getting professional waxes and done it myself for 15+ years, but this is the first place I have gone that used a Roll-​on bottle for the wax, which I’ve heard isn’t sanitary because the bacteria can grow inside the bottle. Anyway, I thought I’ll give it a shot and see what happens. Well. I’ve never had so many ingrown hairs in my life! My whole lower leg was covered in bumps within a week.

I just had a pedi & acrylic set done here and must say I had a very negative experience. The pedicure was alright, my issue was the nails. The girl was incredibly rough on my hands and cause me the most pain I’ve ever experienced getting my nails done. I also asked her to trim my cuticles, and most places I’ve had this done charge me anywhere from $ 5 to $ 8 for this but not a full manicure as that’s not what I had done — this didn’t end up being the case. They charged me for both the full set of nails AND a manicure without telling me. The pain combined with the outrageous cost made it so I’ll never come back. Should have known not to stray from my usual spot.

I love Tina’s.
I have been three times in the last 2 months.
Twice for pedicures and once for a mani-​pedicure.
I have had different estheticians each time but always good, they take their time and it comes out as expected. Always friendly!

avoid this place. not very professional. amateurish in terms of technical ability and customer service.
for my pedicure: made me wait so long that the water my feet were soaking in got ice cold.
— then they made it BOILING hot instantly and almost scalded me.
— later she DID SCALD my foot with extremely hot water out of the hose, so hot i literally screamed in pain.
— i realized the next day that she had been so rough in using a cheap plastic sloughing tool on my foot that she MADE THE SIDE OF MY FOOT BLEED. scabs formed on my foot from the blood. i couldn’t walk on it the next day. Plus i also had to worry about whether it would get infected.
If it does get infected I will definitely report this place to Toronto Public Health.
Any time I gently let them know about water being too hot, burning my foot, etc. there was no apology, just a silent shrug of the shoulders like «Oh well, not my problem.»
I paid quietly because I was with friends and didn’t want to cause a fuss (they were also unimpressed). If I had been alone I wouldn’t have paid at all.
Oh, and the day after my pedicure i noticed it had already started to chip off even though I had been wearing socks with my shoes all day afterward.
i am NOT some salon snob. i’ve been to discount express nail places before and never had an experience as bad as this. Do. Not. Go. Here. Unless you want to be in pain and be treated carelessly by people who barely know what they’re doing and don’t care.

the place was neat and tidy. thats about all the good i can say about this place…
i got a refill and a nail repair for my acrylics. none of them are the same length, the are all crooked and the french manicure is all smudgy.
when i got there i asked the guy to make them a bit shorter and he was like… they are short enough. i told him to make it shorter and he made some of them so short that i look like i have a nail biting problem.
i like my nails short. the only reason why i have the acrylics is because i am a hairstylist and my nails always look ugly and the polish is chipped because my hands are in water a lot. i dont use them for the length.
when the guy was done putting the clear coat on he ordered me to go to the nail drier. no help with my stuff so i wouldnt smear the wet polish and no have a nice day or thank you or anything.
i will definitely not be going back here ever again.

Comfortable, professional, friendly atmosphere, I love the ambiance at Tina’s.
