So/so for a grocery store. A lot of the on floor staff have outright contempt for customers. Most of the check out staff are pretty decent however. Avoid buying meat from the counter here — a lot of their cuts are substandard. Also be careful of the fruit — it is not always the freshest.

This Sobey’s is at the junction of Broadview/Pottery Road/Mortimer. Hence it gets a lot of traffic. It is not a huge Sobey’s but they do have all the necessary. One of the things I like the best about this Sobey’s is the Hot Food counter. Not all grocery stores are created equal, and I just want to say that the ladies at the Todmorden store do a fantastic job at this counter. Always sooo nice! Their hot food is excellent! My faves are: — pot roast and mashed — pulled pork — chicken — scalloped potatoes They have a small sushi section too. Warning though — if you get there too late in the evening — most of the faves will be sold out. They have a lot of cold ready to eat selections too. For the other stuff – — good bakery dept — fresh fish and meat counters — and on the deli counter — one of the best selections of Feta cheese I have ever seen(being near Greektown of course!) :)

Decent neighbourhood grocery store with good selection and very friendly staff. I’ve been coming here for two years and the staff is always welcoming. Sobeys is a bit expensive but decent.

I live across the street, it’s open 24hrs so that makes it very convenient. Down side is their prices go up and down as quickly as the wind changes direction! Cat food just went up from 65 cents to 79 cents last week. Most staff are great there. I try to buy when things are on sale.

I have been shopping at this store on and off for about a year. It is convenient to other destinations and I end up in this part of town at least once a week. I have mixed feelings about this location, though. The store is very much a neighbourhood grocery store of old. The staff clearly knows its regular customers and has personal conversations with them. You get old fashioned service in many ways, the cashiers know how to pack a grocery bag so your purchases remain intact! However, the layout of the store is a little peculiar and it seems difficult to shop. The product lines are limited which means less selection. And the prices seem way too high, except the chain sales. It has a really nice bakery dept and meat dept which in itself keeps me coming back. I will likely continue to shop here for certain items when in the neighbourhood, and go elsewhere for better everyday prices.
