Angry, nasty: Secretary’s
Chuck is not a bad guy at all and from what I understand not a bad Realtor either. His Secretary/​Wife is something all together different. An angry and hostile person, would be putting it lightly! Both my wife and I were berated over the phone several time for cancelling an appointment we were unable to make due to a car accident that closed the highway into Port Alberni. We called and provided about 40 minutes notice as we were very close to getting there but were turned around by a city worker who said the road would be closed for 5 hours. When we tried to reschedule she provided further verbal abuse and out right refused and told we would have to find another agent to show us the property. I sent them an email asking if they were now refusing to show a preapproved buyer the sellers property or if they were trying to say I could not write «no agency». Here is the response I got back…
«I am under no obligation to show you homes and certainly do not
wish to. You are free to work with any Realtor of your choice. I have found you to be abusive and rude. I am requesting no further contact as this is now harassment and will contact authorities if you contact me again.»
I then contact the managing broker (Darren Chamish) who said he would look into it. He called me back and told me that if I provided the agent my banks information and they could verify I was preapproved that I would be shown the house.
I had my broker sent over conformation and waited to hear back from Darren.
When Darren Chamish called back he informed me that the agent was now still refusing to show the house because my wife and I were a SECURITY RISK… BUT, we were welcome to visit the open house they were holding on Saturday!!!
–Now, if I was a seller and found out that my agent was refusing to show the house I was selling to a preapproved buyer, I think I would find a new agent… & yes I have a call into the «soon to be notified» home owner.
