We’d been to the Sundowner a few times prior to the management change, and it was fine. Just your basic, dingy looking little pub. Nothing special. Since the change, it’s refreshed and clean, brighter and feels much more welcoming. They have food specials every night. We’ve been in the midst of home renos and selling, so we’ve been in for Sunday dinner a few times recently, and weekend brunch twice. The food has been consistently excellent. Good coffee at brunch as well. The Sunday roast beef dinner is delicious and too much for me to finish(which my husband loves because he eats the rest!) The food specials are priced so well, we are tempted to go whenever we don’t feel like cooking. The only improvement I could suggest would be more interesting craft beers! There’s so many great local beers now. We’d go more often if they had rotating taps.

Tried out the Sundowner Aug 72015 after hearing they have opened again. The place looks nice but after trying a couple of different draft beers? I don’t know? The beer is either way past due date or it is not what they are saying it is?(you-brew or something?) It tasted way off and was not very cold. I had a similar experience with the draft beer before the pub closed down. Maybe something is wrong with the draft system? I will give the place another try in the future to check out their food, but will order bottle beer next time!

Under new mgmt, this pub has been refreshed and all the food is priced well(under $ 10 for a burger!) as well as being fresh… no frozen stuff. Pool tables are gone, but lots of TVs have been added. Enjoyed my lunch visit today! Definitely give this place a chance!

My neighbourhood pub for the last 10 years… don’t go much but they have GREAT food in my opinion. Wing day specials with chefs special ghost pepper sauce is to DIE for!!! Needs a serious update but who cares if the food is good!
