Day 5⁄30: 30 day Oct Unilocal challenge Typical suburban Save On — a bit small, but typically quiet, shorter checkout lines and an okay selection of produce, breads, meat, some organic items and other basics. If you like bulk items, this is a great location for that. Easy parking in the lot at the front of the store. I have no major complaints about the store other than their produce can get a bit picked over and they don’t seem to replenish as quickly as the bigger locations. Regular prices here are a bit steep for packaged foods like most Save Ons, but still acceptable since the only nearby competition is the Safeway across the street. Save On still offers free bags which is a nice bonus these days.

This used to be called«Overwaitea»(pronounced«Over-weigh-tee»). Not a very good name for a grocery store considering the implications of what this store can do to you if you visit too much ;-) Now, it’s a smallish Save On Foods but I LOVE their bulk foods section. Sometimes, I want just a little bit of many things and this section is the perfect place to get them. For instance, they have a whole section of Voortman’s cookies and I can pick one from each bin and get to sample a nice assortment of biscuits!
