Specialties
Good Hound Training specializes in positive reinforcement training for dogs. Our trainer, Andrew Richards, is a certified dog trainer from the Animal Behaviour Collage and certified in pet first aid through Walks and Wags First Aid. Good Hound Training wants to help you to become the best possible fur parent for your dog! We can help you with puppy training, basic obedience, behavourial issues, problem solving or with any other questions you may have. Positive Reinforcement Training is treat and praise based and does not use fear or pain to train your dog. A dog should do a behaviour because they want to, not because they are afraid if they don’t. Training should be a happy and rewarding experience for both your and your dog.
History
Established in 2014.
Good Hound Training is owned and operated by newlyweds Andrew and Mallory Richards; and one of the biggest passions we both share is our love and respect for dogs. As we are starting our life together, we got thinking about how we are going to have the best and happiest life possible. The answer was obvious– turn our love for dogs into our living. As dog owners ourselves, we know the struggles that can come up with raising a pup– pulling on leash, house training, reactivity, destructive behaviour and the list goes on! We thought, what could be better than helping other dog owners become the best possible fur parent they could be! So with Andrew’s natural affinity with dogs and Mallory’s administrative skills, Good Hound Training was born!
