One of the best South Asian cuisine I’ve had in the lower mainland! Luckily, I had a friend who knew what to order and he didn’t disappoint. The food was superbly flavourful and the meat was perfectly tender. I would definitely go back and my friend and I have gone back multiple times since!

Worst restaurant you can go to. Their dosa’s are served cold, and nothing is served at the same time to all. Second, they place very little emphasis on customer service. I don’t know why every time I come to surrey I consider to give my business to these small local joints. I have had it enough. No more. Go to Vancouver Main Street and downtown. Pathetic. The food here was pure trash. Waste of time and money. Go somewhere else. everything here was served cold.

For overall value, food, and ambience, it’s one of the nicer Indian places out here, easily surpassing Vancouver’s competitors, I can only think of Maurya as even coming close to a nice décor, though M is more classic, but let’s digress as usual. They have a private section on the left, as well as a private room for 20 ppl. Main seating area is on the right, warm and cozy atmosphere. Date worthy material. The butter chicken is my barometer, tasty and heavy on the cream, yay. And if you’re a vegetarian, you’ll be impressed by its 10+ items, unlike places where a masala or mixed veggies is what this section is usually made of. Located in big plaza with Lordco, lots of parking.

My family happened to go here for dinner last night and found the food to be super authentic. The chicken kardhai, Kabab platter and garlic nan were the best. The good was as good as what you get in Mughlai restaurants in Delhi. We were pleasantly surprised!

I’ll be honest– I have only ever ordered pakoras from here. But the best kind! Fish, chicken and vegetable pakoras are so crispy and tasteful! Best place to have a quick snack like this.

Great Indian food for the price. Very tasty and if you are on a budget, they have a coupon in the«entertainment booklet».

I really want to give this place a one star, but considering there are a few dishes that are quite good, I gave 2 stars. My family used to go to this place for special occasions as our default Indian restaurant. Partly due to location and partly due to the few dishes that do stand out. Also it’s surprisingly difficult to find decent Indian food in Surrey. In the last year, I vowed to never enter this restaurant again and urged my family members the same. It is not worth my or my family’s money or special occasion. In our 10+ visits(and many takeout orders), the service was quite bad. Slow and sometimes rude. The servers(and manager) seem to think that arguing with the customer is acceptable behavior. There were many occasions where the server brings the wrong dish or a different variation of a dish(eg. extra spicy when ordered mild, or garlic naan when ordered plain naan) and then when we pointed out the mistake and say ‘we ordered the plain naan,’ the server would reply, ‘no you didn’t.’ And that was that. No replacement, no sorry, no nothing. Take into consideration this type of back and forth happened on MANY occasions. The dishes are very inconsistent as well. If you have a favorite, don’t expect to get even remotely the same tasting dish the next time you go… IF you go back. For the most part, I am an easy going diner. I rarely send food back if ever, and I don’t complain about the small details… let’s just say this place was the reason I signed up for a Unilocal account. This is a shameful dining experience even for Surrey(Scott Rd) standards. I spent my teens growing up in various areas of Surrey with Indian neighbours that would share their meals with us. Very friendly, warm people that cooked amazing food. For this reason I know a good friendly Indian experience is out there in Surrey, but it is not at Desi ‘Junk’tion. *** DISCLAIMER ** I forgot to add that the ‘franchise’ location in Langley, BC should not be mistaken for the same restaurant. It only bares the same name, which seems to have been a business transaction with clearly no quality control or concern for the name’s reputation. Look at the Langley location’s menu… it has Chinese food on it. ‘Nuff said.

Do not go here! We ordered tandoori chicken it came out on a skillet that looked good and piping hot but upon cutting into it the meat was bright pink and clearly RAW! We told the sever but I had to find him because the service was so poor he said he would bring out another one, we said no because we were disgusted and the server didn’t look pleased. Then to top it’s off I saw a mouse run right underneath a booth! Stay away from here unless you want to get sick!

Went a 2nd time for dinner. Service was very slow. It took 20 minutes to receive our bottle of wine. We ordered 2 curries, rice, naan and tandoori chicken. 15 minutes later we were informed there was no tandoori chicken available. We then had to pick something else off the menu. Our food arrived and we still had no plates, napkins or cutlery. we started with the assorted pakoras which was a large dish and very good. My shahi paneer was seasoned well however the paneer was very dry. Just like my lunch experience, the butter chicken was again excellent. The naan bread must have been sitting under a heat lamp as the edges were crispy and inedible.

This was probably the best Indian food I found nearby when I lived in Surrey for a few months. Surrey is obviously overrun with Indian restaurants, but it’s nearly impossible to guess which ones are good or not. I went here once for lunch and got baingan bharta, rice and roti and it was very delicious. So when my mom came to visit we went here as she doesn’t get to eat Indian very often. The waitress we had was so nice, helpful and friendly. I asked for our curries to be vegan, mild and easy on the oil and she said no problem. What we got was perfect, it wasn’t oily at all and just what we wanted. We got Baingan Bharta, Aloo Gobi, Dal Tarka, Saffron Rice and roti. Everything was great, and both my mom and boyfriend were happy. Sadly I’m no longer in Surrey so I can’t come back. But overall it was my favorite place to go to for curries. Everywhere else I went nearby wasn’t that fresh and was far too oily.

Since the change in management/ownership, all I can say is I am not overly keen or interested in going back to this restaurant. I have been a loyal customer the last few years, and I bring in groups of friends regularly from all over the lower mainland(Abbotsford to downtown friends) to eat here… and we have been treated like GOLD. I HAD a loyalty discount card which is valid for 6 months — you pay for these cards($ 50⁄6 month term) and they had cancelled my card. They honored it one last time and said that was it… I could buy a new one under the new management… really? Ya you just cost yourself myself, the clientele I bring in for occasions, the parties that I use to bring in, and my friends that come to visit me out here in the burbs! Not impressed with their new practices.

Solid 4 stars. The service was great! The manager came by twice(though the first time we hadn’t had a bite) and the ladies took care of us, and gave us extra water. The place had great seating and lighting, and we didn’t have to wait even though it was fairly busy. My boyfriend ordered lamb, I forget which style, hot(so that he would sweat) and he was happily sweating. His son tried the butter chicken and didn’t find it too overwhelming(He does not like«hot» food at all) The only reason they get a 4⁄5 is my dish. I ordered Chicken Masala and it came out as a weird colour, not the deep red/orange I was used to. It was delicious, but after trying it and my partner trying it, we decided they added too much cream to the base so it was not even mild(I ordered moderate) and not that normal Masala flavour. Regardless it was yummy, just not what I expected. The prices were reasonable or average, and we will be back. But probably ordering something else :)

Food: 7⁄10 Ambiance: 7⁄10 Service: 8⁄10 I came in with the wife on a Tuesday evening was looking for a new Indian restaurant, as we are big Indian cuisine lovers. We’ve seen the man standing outside everyday with the sign, and have put it on our mind that we will try this place as soon as we can. Walking in, we were greeted quickly and sat in a comfortable booth. The Bollywood videos were a nice touch, and I could see Indian people eating there(which is a good sign.) The food came piping hot and it was awesome. The waitress was pleasant and friendly and suggested things on the menu. When we were going to get two portions of rice and two naan, she advised against it saying it would be way too much — she was right. The portions were good, and we got to take some home with us(which we like.) It seems Indian food tastes better in bed the next day. The wife had her usual Shahi Paneer, and I had my usual Butter Chicken. Both were creamy and tasty. The problem I had, which would probably prevent us from coming back was the manager. We found a pebble in our food, and were a little wary as to why there would be foreign debris in our food. I was not looking for compensation or even to argue, I just wanted to bring to their attention what was floating around in their kitchen. The waitress was puzzled as to why this would of happened, and presented the pebble to the manager. The manager came back to us a few moments later and tried to pass this pebble off as a piece of cinnamon stick. Okay, seriously? I reviewed, and even bit down on this pebble and was positive that what was in my mouth was not a piece of dry stick or food of any kind — it was a rock. He started to get a little angry with us when we mentioned that it’s not a stick, it’s a rock. He ended up leaving with the pebble in hand, and arrived shortly after with a gift card and ten dollars off our bill. A nice thing to do, but not why I rated this a 3⁄5. His attitude stunk and left a bitter taste in our mouth. I ended up tipping the waitress the difference that was knocked off our bill. She was pleasant and helpful, and she deserved it.

dont go for the buffett lunch. they advertise that its open until 3:00pm but take all the food away at 2: pm actually when I arrived at 1:30 they had already taken 50% of the buffet away so I actually sat there for an hour waiting for them to bring the buffett back out and it never happened. I scraped whatever was left over in two dishes at the buffet and left

As a lover, and maker of Indian food, I am a somewhat harsh critic. Now, let’s just get it out there, Vancouver has a ton of Indian places and, I’ve sampled plenty over the years. My faves being A Taste of India(still No. 1 in my Vancouver book though looking somewhat worse for wear on my last visit), Nirvana(is it just me or have meal sizes gone down proportionate to rising prices?), and of course, The Himalayan. What an absolute and utter delight that we stumbled upon Desi Junction in Delta, and by stumble, uhm, I get lost going over a bridge. The place is divided into two areas, a ‘bar’ type section and the restaurant. Now I am one of those folks who have an utter hate-on for restaurants that try to drum up business with televisions. If you can’t attract customers with your food, then you are doing something wrong(sports bars excluded). In fact, I’ve been known to take my business elsewhere rather than be inundated with tv’s(by the way restaurant owners, if I wanted to watch television, I’d stay home and order in). Anyway, rant over. Desi Junction has tv’s, lots of them. But the food! OK, I got distracted. The tv’s…they mostly play old Bollywood films, or modern day Bhangra video’s. Thumbs up on both of these.(The bar section does play sports channels, namely football and cricket.) OK, back to The FOOD! The scent of the food as soon as you open the door sold me. We’ve been back three times now, the third time last weekend. And, I actually drove all the way to DELTA, just for the food! It’s that good. My partner had the lamb curry and I had the chicken korma. We ordered it hot, Indian hot, and they delivered! The korma was delicately seasoned and grew pleasantly warmer with each bite. You could taste the individual flavours — the saffron, the chilies, the coconut, divine. The lamb was cooked perfectly, not dry or tough or chewy, something that makes me generally steer away from lamb. We started with a paneer pakora served with a homemade mint chutney and my only complaint would be that there were far too many of them on the plate. They could halve the plate and the price and serve up plenty. We also had the garlic naan which was loaded with fresh garlic and cilantro. My partner was actually dancing in his seat while he ate… he’ll kill me for saying it, but it’s true. Now, I warn you, the place is located in a strip mall, and it’s not much to look at from outside, but don’t be fooled by appearances. On our last visit, the manager said they were looking for a Vancouver location. Fingers crossed!

Solid lunch buffet! Good selection and it’s tasty. A nice surprising find thanks to a friend of mine. Lots of space inside and lots of TVs around in the lounge area for sporting events. On a street full of Indian restos and a number of buffets, this is one place I’ll continue to go back to! Not much more to really expound on!

My cousins took me to this place when I was visiting. This place really surprised me. It was much better than I thought it was going to be. The seating is comfortable, the lighting is nice. There are TV’s in every corner. While I was there, they were playing the hockey game then afterward they had Indian music videos on, which I thought was appropriate. The service was nice and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the buttered chicken(mild), plain naan, and yougurt. The only thing that this place needs is some windows or better ventilation. Some foods are cooked with a lot of spices and it comes out sizzling and the spices get to you. so some windows would be nice lol I would definitely go back next time I visit!

In all fairness we never actually got to try the food. My brother in law had said that they had the best butter chicken so we thought we would give them a try. We ordered it and were told that it was about 45 til the food would be ready for us to pick up as it was a busy night, alright fair enough. My husband goes there with my daughter and the food was not ready after the said wait time. 45 minutes later I called him on his cell and he was still waiting for the food. I told him to leave, at that point our daughter was an extremely hungry and cranky 3 year old. The front girl said it would only be a few more minutes but I didn’t care. Needless to say my husband went and got my daughter a happy meal and we had sandwiches at home. Best butter chicken? I’ll never know, as the service was so horrible I don’t want to know what the food tastes like. When I order my Indian food now I go to my old favourite, Tasty Sweets. The food is always excellent and ready to pick up when they say it will be.

The quality here is great! And their menu has so much variety compared to other typical Indian restaurants. Especially in the appetizers section, making this a good place to drink and snack. Which is probably why it’s a bar too… hmmm? We had paneer pakora and chicken tikka for appies. Everything was really fresh and the chicken was nice and perfectly moist. The butter chicken and mutter paneer were pretty delicious too. Some may say it lacks in salt, but I thought it was good. We also tried a variety of kulcha, garlic naan, and onion kulcha. All 3 were nice and crispy and soft at the some time and very flavourful! If I were with more people, we would have ordered more appies like prawn pakora. Some of their veggie dishes were really unique too. The mango lassi was tasty! Also, we had a 4 year old with us and the server was very accomodating to us, for him. She was really nice! I’m sure we’ll go back!
