La Vie en Rose

This is the first time I’ve been into this location. Honestly, I thought this store was expensive so I never went in. Although I’m sure there are expensive things in here, the sales are amazing! So much cute sleepwear and under garments. I said to my friend while we were looking around, that this place makes me want to throw out all my pjs and buy everything in here. Not only are things cute, but soft and comfy! The best part? The swim wear section. I hate bathing suit shopping, probably more than jean shopping but this place has a lot of bathing suits I could actually see myself wearing. One pieces, two pieces, cover ups. everything you’d need for a vacation down south, or a Nova Scotia summer.

I have never purchased lingerie here, but a friend recommended the swim wear. If you’re a curvy girl and you want something modest, this is the place to go! Lots of stylish options and more than just the tiny string bikinis (though they do have those too!). The woman who helped me at Micmac was amazing– I had my three kids with me and she helped take all the pieces of the hangers and helped fetch all sorts of things for me.
I found a really cute suit that fit me well and reveals only what I want it too. I love that it’s not an old lady suit even if it is modest.

I was quite excited to learn that LVER carried bras and swim tops with larger cup sizes. So, off I went.
As others have mentioned the store is divided in two: one side is lingerie, the other swim wear. Now, I should clarify I can’t comment on the lingerie side as I only visited the swim wear side. So this review only reflects my experience based on half the store.
So many pretty things! Lots of different styles, colors and patterns. They also carry accessories (sun hats) and cover ups. They’ve definitely got plenty of variety.
However, as with many women’s wear retailers their sizing is way off the mark. WAY off. I couldn’t get an XL to pull up past my knees. I’m well aware I’m not a size 2, but for the love of all that is holy. I guess I sort of figured if they carry larger cup sizes they would also have a wider variety of overall sizes. Guess not. Apparently if you’re a chick with larger tatas and you want to shop here you need to be teeny on the bottom. Long story short, I left feeling pretty poorly and discouraged.
The staff were not so helpful, in my experience.
They get 2 stars because the store was clean, and the selection (barring the sizing issue) was quite good.
Needless to say, I won’t go back. At least not for swim wear.

I was really happy when I realized La Vie En Rose came to Halifax but disappointed it was so far away (you really need a car to get to Dartmouth Crossing.)
They have a great selection of bra, panties, robes, PJ’s, night gowns, corsets and the other side of the store is called aqua which has swimsuits, cover-​ups, hats, flip flops.
The staff are always more than willing to help you and they never have a line-​up when I go in some of their selection can be scattered depending on what it is your trying to find, but they do have alot to choose from.
Their prices are pretty good a swimsuit can be about $ 60 (regular priced) and a bra set $ 50. Keep in mind they do have sales I got a bikini in there once for $ 18 and 3 sets of panties for $ 18.
Definitely worth checking out!

I expected more from this store, the two sides are lingerie and the other swimwear.
I did see some nice things here and there carry a small section for the Bride to Be. The prices here are reasonable for lingerie. Nothing jumped out at me, but they had some great sales on. I saw some cute gifts for people.
It was nice to see they carried mens as well. They seem to make their own brand name for a lot of the lines they have here.
The swimwear section is nothing to drive the distance for.

No one quite does ‘sexy’ like the French. And in titling itself after a song of the great Edith Piaf, I become prepared to delve into styles of an old times Parisian sort.
The store is divides into two halves: swimwear and lingerie. I’m disappointed to discover the name of the store is, in fact, just a name. While the clothes and suits are nice, nothing speaks of Paris or Edith.
There are plenty o pretty items in the line of swim suits, sunglasses, hats, flip– flops, etc. Its a store to check out all if you’re heading on a winter vacation, as they seem to have a fresh churning of stock 12 months of the year. The undies and lingerie were fine as well, but nothing spectacular.
This isn’t a place I’d go out of my way for… but it’ll certainly good to have on file. Its all pretty affordable and looks to be of good quality. I guess it was a bit of an anti-​climax for me, after my premature expectations. But its a nice shop and good to have all on hand in one friendly locale.

La Vie en Rose is a great location if you want to dash in and pick up something sexy for the bedroom or beach.
When we were in there the store itself was laid out nicely, bra’s panties etc were on the right and swimwear and beach accessories on the left not hard hey.
Great selection of suits and accessories to match as ll pretty reasonable prices that wont leave you broke and guilty that you actually purchased it. Some suit are priced way to high for the product that you are getting.
One thing I found is that they could expand on the sizes of suits for those who are not a prefect A cup other then that the service as great as when you walked in the door you had a friendly hello.

La Vie en Rose is one of the few places you can go in the Halifax Regional Municipality to find a great, year-​round selection of bikinis and beach accessories (including flip flops, sunglasses, beach covers and beach bags).
In general, the suits are reasonably priced, averaging about $ 50 for a 2-​piece suit, but they frequently have sale racks where you may be lucky to find a really great deal.
