Delicious. We heard about Crocodile Ice Cream from a neighbour, since we’re new to the ‘hood, and headed over on a hot day. They had SO many options — there’s soft serve, «regular» ice cream, waffle cones, and more. Everything was priced well, the staff were really nice, and they moved through a busy line-up really quickly. It’s sunny again tonight, maybe we’ll head back to try another flavour!

Crocodile is a longstanding Cole Harbour classic. This parking lot hutch pops up every summer for a few months of keeping it cool outside of Jamieson’s. A full selection of Farmers and Scotsburn flavours means you’ll be spending a fair amount of your visit asking, ‘and what’s that one again?’ as you make your way through the names that give no indication of what to expect. Shall I make it easy for you? You’re going to want the Peanut Butter Fudge Crunch.(Hat tip to Meegan D for the suggestion) We scored two smalls in freshly baked waffle cones for under $ 5 which is a helluva steal. The smalls were the perfect size too-no melty, sticky mess on the way home.

This is the place my ice cream dreams are made of. It reminds me of an old school dairy bar, you pull up and get your cone or icy treat delight and sit on the rocks by the parking lot or their cute little patio with bright umbrellas out back and enjoy. This place has every kind of cone you can imagine: regular, sugar, waffle cone(dipped in chocolate, plain or with candies!), waffle bowl or a plain old cup. I asked for a chocolate dipped waffle cone(I figure when you’re having ice cream just GO for it) and my fresh waffle cone was dipped before my very eyes! Deliciously melty chocolaty goodness. The service was fast and friendly and seriously adept at the craft of ice cream scoopage. I’m talking serious ice cream professional here people. If there is an art to Ice Cream than the dude at Crocodile(whose name I wish I knew so I could give him props) has it down! They serve every Farmers flavor and a few Scottsburn flavors to enjoy. I tried the Peanut Butter Fudge Crunch and was not disappointed. Ice Cream heaven. I need to come back when calories are no object and try a sundae. If you’re looking for a great place for your Ice Cream fix, don’t wait… just go!

It’s a hot day… Just left the beach way out in Clam Harbour(you did read that review right?) Now I’m in the mood for some ice cream. Check my truth worthy Unilocal and first on the list in the(sort of) near area is Crocodile Ice Cream. I have lots of time so I plug in the address into TomTom and make my way on to this little haven of sugary goodness. Any place that serves Scotsburn is already going to get a plus in my book. Have that«OMG get in my face Melted Snowman» flavor and you’re gonna get a double plus bonus score! +++++++ Add super friendly service and a cool patio to sit and you’re getting 4 stars easily!

Best icecream stand in Dartmouth! There is even a small patio in the back that is dog friendly, if your pooch is good give them the bottom tip of your cone. They’ll be as excited to go out for icecream as you are next time!

Yayy for almost summer weather! This weekend while visiting the Dark Side we were looking for a place to have a treat and the 3 of us are major ice cream fans, so we turned to our handy Unilocal apps to find a place near by. The closest option that popped up was Crocodile Ice Cream, and it was just what we were looking for. They had a good selection of flavours and a couple of different cone options(a nice touch for an ice cream hut). The only thing I would change would be Scotsburn instead of Farmers Ice Cream, but that is only person preference and would not reduce a star for that.

Everyone has their neighbourhood ice cream stand that they swear by. In my case, when I want to cool down with a sweet treat and the sugary-soapy soft-serve concoctions found at the big ridiculous chains don’t do it for me, I head over to Crocodile Ice Cream. I’ve been going to that ice cream shack since before it became Crocodile many years ago, and have enjoyed watching the place grow. I sometimes even miss their punch cards that they had in the beginning, because it justified the amount of ice cream I was consuming(«I need to eat just three more cones to get that free one!») Even though I don’t really live in that neck of the neighbourhood anymore, I still make my way there anyway when I can. The little hut is full of frozen goodies. With a variety of at least 20 Farmers flavours of ice cream and frozen yogurt that frequently rotate, you are bound to find a flavour to quench your cravings. And if not, they now offer home-made gelatos, too. I highly recommend splurging to get their home-made waffle cones. Some waffle cones have that off, almost bitter or a bland flavour, but not these; no, they truly taste like crispy, sweet waffles and are the perfect vehicle to deliver that two-scoop peanut butter caramel cookie dough ice cream to your hungry mouth. Expect to fight a chaotic line, especially on even the coolest sunny days. Sometimes there are tables and chairs behind the shack, but most of the time the rocks surrounding the parking lot will do just fine to park your ass while you eat to make sure you’re not ruining your car’s detail job by dripping all over the seats.
