I don’t get it — I just don’t get it. A lot of people I know just seem to foam at the mouth when they talk about Cora’s. I’m confused… dazed and absolutely confused. What’s the big deal?! I get that the fresh fruits are great(better than canned at other breakfast places) — but that’s pretty much all I like about Cora’s. They pretty much only have a breakfast menu but are open for lunch, etc. Their ‘lunch menu’ consists of a few sandwiches. My last visit I ordered Jo Construction — 3 eggs, 3 sausages, 3 strips of bacon, roasted potatoes and toast. Don’t get me wrong, the eggs and bacon were delicious — the sausage and potatoes not so much. And breakfast is my favourite meal of the day — but I don’t think the business should be open for lunch if they don’t have a proper lunch menu. But what the hell do I know? Cora’s keep popping up wherever I go. So she must be doing something right.

I was here for business trip and we came here on an early morning, we were their first customer in the morning on a weekday. I ordered pancake with fresh fruits, it’s alright, not the greatest, but given the choices of a breakfast place on a weekday, it’s decent. Of course, if it’s a weekend brunch, we can go for some other places. I also ordered a cappuccino, I didn’t like it, should probably just get a regular coffee or get your latte /cappuccino at other coffee joints.

Tried this location for the first time this morning. It is, by far, the worst yet. Our server took our order and, once she gave us coffee, we didn’t see her again until we were almost done. We had to ask other servers for coffee refills, etc. It took a long time to get our food after we ordered. To that end, it was very busy — Saturday morning, line out the door — but it took well over half an hour before our food arrived, and we had to flag down another server to have them go check on it. The person dining with me had ordered a side of toast and received 2 slices of bread, not toasted. I’ve been to other Cora’s locations and received much better service.

My favourite Cora’s Resturant location in HRM. Great professional service — good food(as usual) — and clean interior. I’ve never had any problem with this Resturant!

I’m not a huge breakfast person so when I do get coerced into breakfast by the boyfriend it’s usually to go here. Food and service is generally consistent and tasty. You get A LOT of food for the price. Go in with an empty stomach or take home leftovers(not always a bad thing)! Free wi-fi is always a nice touch for those of us that have a hard time putting down our phones.

My favourite Cora location is the one in Burnside. It’s the newest and nicest in my opinion. I headed there last weekend before shopping and left feeling full and satisfied. I ordered the Sunshine Panini with Ham(using Buckwheat crêpe mix) which came with a huge plate of fruit. With a coffee, water, and tip it all came to around $ 23. Not bad considering it acted as my breakfast and lunch. The food was hot and delicious, the server was perky and prompt and it was a great start to my Saturday shopping at Dartmouth Crossing! Now I have a confession — I use to work at Cora’s for many, many years so I’ve memorized the menu and usually know exactly what to order. That’s not to say I haven’t had my share of questionable experiences but generally speaking, I’m always pleased when I leave there. I go to the Burnside location because there usually aren’t any lineups.

My first two times at this location were excellent. The last time I went, I experienced horrible service. I ordered Eggs Benedicte and asked for the yolks hard boiled. I received them runny. This is a show stopper for me — I don’t eat raw egg yolk. Worse, I had to ask five different servers before someone came to the table to see what was wrong. She asked if I wanted to send my entire plate back. I said, no, just bring the Eggs Benny. While I waited, the rest of the group finished their meal. Then the server brought out two hard boiled poached eggs — but the bread and ham and hollandaise on my plate had already gone past the point of pleasure. They didn’t charge me for it, and they’re lucky they didn’t try to. They didn’t get a tip either. I know some people are committed to tipping regardless of the outcome, but I was not happy with the experience. Neither the meal nor the service were any good.

I have been going to Cora’s for a long time; actually I used to go to the very first one that opened, before they started franchising, in Ville Saint-Laurent, Québec. Yeah… a long time ago. All that to say I have been to probably 20 different locations over the last 20 years, and I pretty much know what to expect. This location is interesting, because it’s in the middle of Burnside industrial park. On this sunny Saturday morning, I was surprised at how many people were here, given its out-of-the-way location. Service was slow, which I’ve experienced a few times at this location. You expect to get coffee quickly here, before you’ve had a chance to peruse the menu actually. Didn’t happen today. Then our coffee was full of grounds… not good. Once we ordered however, food came quickly. The eggs were perfectly cooked and everything tasted fine, as it usually does at Cora’s. If you’ve never had cretons, a hearty pâté made from spiced pork, you have to try it. For us transplanted Québecers, it’s comfort food. Smear it on a piece of toast, with or without mustard(I prefer without) and enjoy a traditional taste of my home. I will continue to go to Cora’s for the quality and consistency but I so wish there were more inventive breakfast options in our city.

This has to be my favorite Cora’s. It’s a little out of the way, but it’s very consistent which I find lacking at the closest location to where I live. We have only had a few instances where the food took forever or the service was simply just par. It seems to get better and better with each visit. It’s great food and it’s usually never so busy you feel like you’ve been forgotten. This location is still pretty busy on the weekends but it’s no where near as long a wait as most locations. If your a Cora’s fan, make sure you check out this hidden gem

If you’re looking for a quick and consistent place to eat, Cora’s hits that mark every time. That being said, I just can’t get into Cora’s for some reason, and to be honest, I’m not really sure why. Boyfriend and I go about five/six times a year, never have a bad experience, but never have a great one either. It’s one of these places that’s just there. The Burnside location is pretty standard for the franchise, lots of room inside, parking is ample, fast service when you’re on a lunchtime deadline. I tend to order Peggy’s Poached, because I have a weird fascination with cottage(pronounced cot-a-hay, a la Bart Simpson) cheese and poached eggs. Apparently I’m 85 years old inside. Also have sampled their tuna sandwich, which is HUGE and comes with a load of fruit, which is great. Boyfriend always orders one of their smoothies, which is something that is definitely always a hit. Again, nothing amazing, but consistency is often something that other places lack, so can’t fault them there. A good option for some quick comfort food in Burnside.

Great place for those in Burnside on a 1 hour lunch. 5 mins to get there, 5 mins to get back only leaves 50 mins for the total dining experience. The staff at Cora’s has the lunch croud down to a science. We were in, seated, served, ate and out in under 45 minutes. There is lots of seating. The booths are a little tight though. I wouldn’t want to be a larger person sitting in one that’s for sure. The service was quick, but not so accurate. My wife ordered no melons, and ½ of her fruit on her«poached peggy» were mellons. Luckly I like melons, so a quick fruit swap with my eggs benny trimmings and it was all good. We didn’t complain, mostly for lack of time, so I just chalk it up to an oversight on the servers part. Hey… it happens. Usually they are really good with my wife’s melons. My eggs benny was awesome, one great thing with Cora’s is the consistency in their locations. No surprises. What got me excited is when they brought my tea with the hot water separate so I could steep it myself. Too many places just pour the hot water over the tea and you have no idea how long it’s been steeping when you get it. Yes I’m a tea snob… it’s my thing. Oh yeah, free wi-fi for us techy types was nice.

My favourite Cora’s location in Halifax. The location may be out of the way for many but that’s a plus: it’s usually less busy than many of the other locations in the city. It’s also just a stone’s throw away from Dartmouth Crossing; you can have brunch and then do some shopping or see a movie. It’s also good during the week for those who work in Burnside. For those with cars, a fairly good-sized parking lot. For those without cars, it’s a pretty difficult location to access. Staff are friendly and efficient. Food is always delicious. Lots of tables or booths(depending on your preference). You should also know that this is one of a few Cora’s locations that offers Cora Cards; one of those«buy 12 meals, get 13th for free» deals. I only have one small, odd issue: many times we’ve sat down and there is a fork and a knife but no spoon. Which, if you’re getting coffee or tea you need. Overall, I’d recommend it for the delicious Cora’s menu and the great location.
