Established in 1995.

Cole Harbour Integrated Health Services is a physiotherapist-owned practice located in Dartmouth. Our physiotherapists have specialized training, certifications, and expertise that have been were combined to create Canada’s Most Trusted Physiotherapy Clinic Network. In 2008, our diverse group of multi-disciplinary clinics united to become PT Healthcare Solutions Corp., commonly known as pt Health. Our company continues to be led by clinicians _our President, COO, and Director of Operations are physiotherapists. We stay very true to our clinical roots and our focus is always on delivering the highest quality of care to our patients.

Manager

Josée D., BScPT

Born in Moncton, NB, Josée received a Diploma in Health Sciences at The University of Moncton in 1999 and then a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy at The University of Ottawa in 2003. She has worked in Orthopedics as well as in Geriatrics. Since graduating, she has taken multiple courses which include courses from The McKenzie Institute, The Mulligan Concept, Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, and recently some education in bracing and orthotics. In 2011, she moved to Nova Scotia and started working for PT Health. She enjoys gardening, cooking, and golfing.

I’ve been hitting up the CHP for years, although not anywhere near as regularly as I should. For a community centre, this place has it all.
You have the library, which still holds some of my fondest memories. Although not as expansive as others in the city, it still has a good selection, great librarians, and resources. I loved browsing their YA section, and then graduating to more grown-up fiction later on. Now that it’s a stone’s throw from my house, I’ll be coming back to stock up my «hammock day» reading supply.
If being a bookworm is not for you, then CHP can also please any jock. It boasts a complete gym upstairs with weight room, a pool area with three lifeguarded pools, and two ice rinks that can be made available for rent when not in regular use. The pools are great, and I used to love taking advantage of the open swims. Their changing facilities are a little outdated, but still have what you need to get ready pre– and post-workout.
It’s also a great community centre, often times used for events like smaller craft fairs, job fairs, flea markets and estate sales, auctions, and other events. It’s not all glitz and glamour, but it’s accessible to the suburbanites that make up the Cole Harbour area.
My biggest complaint about CHP is the accessibility of their classes. CHP offers a lot of fitness and recreational classes for both members and non-members. However, the schedule caters less to the business crowd. I was considering getting a membership, but many of the courses I was interested in were available during my 9-to-5 working hours, or happening simultaneously late at night on only two nights a week. Until their classes are more schedule-friendly to those that have a regular day job, I’ll be holding off on getting a membership.

As a kid I grew up on a steady diet of Cole Harbour Place open swims. The pools at Cole Harbour Place appeal to all ages and are a great place for both families and singles. There are three pools and a hot tub, along with a giant water slide.
Two of the pools are for children. One is a very shallow and secluded toddler pool, the other is a large even depth pool complete with a slide and bridges. The children’s pool is also connected to the outdoor pool open only during sunny summer days. Around both pools there is ample room for non-swimming parents to supervise. There is also an upper balcony with loungers and tables. The other pool is a combo of water slide, diving board, swinging rope, and lanes. The depth goes from four feet to über deep. All pools are supervised by lifeguards. There are change rooms for men, women, and families. CHP has some of the nicest change rooms so you don’t have to steal a bathroom stall to get some privacy.
I loved Cole Harbour Place as a kid because Mum and Dad could relax, and leave us kids alone to swim and explore. The pool often puts out floaty things and there are a few special days when they inflate giant water toys for the kids. It’s not a rumor, there really is a giant inflatable dog that is also a slide.
If you’re sans children like me there are times for several types of swims. Open swims are for everyone, lane swims are for the exercise conscious, family swims, parent and tot swims, and subscriber swims. If you’re not a subscriber you can buy a pass for the swim. They even offer special pricing for families.

I really, really, really hate gyms. I’m always going to hate gyms. That much is just a universal fact that cannot be changed. I had a membership to Cole Harbour Place for a little over a year and I probably went regularly for about four months and then never again. Such is life.
Still, as far as gyms go, I really did appreciate the CHP experience. The membership was crazy affordable as a result of a employee program, the staff on site are extremely friendly even at the ungodly hour of the morning when I’m essentially a crossbreed between a harpy and a mistreated rhinoceros, the range of equipment satisfies everything from ‘getting ready for summer’ to ‘HULK SMASH! HULK MAKE MUSCLE! HULK EAT YOU FOR BREAKFAST!’, and the number of machines on site were usually pretty good at handling the volume of people coming in.
But of course, that’s just the gym portion. There’s also a hockey rink, a pool, a library, and a ridiculous amount of classes all held on site. So if you’re a better person than I who can actually tolerate indoor exercise, Cole Harbour Place has got you covered for pretty much whatever you’re into. Jut watch out for Hulk. He gets carried away.

I do not go to Cole Harbour Place much, but I have to say, this establishment offers a lot to it’s members.
It is a great facility. They offer just about everything under one roof. The
pools are great, complete with slides and of course life guards.
I have to say this is one of the better recreational facilities I have been to.
There seems to be two of everything, two rinks, three pools and they offer all different types of classes. Attached you will also find the library.
The locker rooms actually have real showers and change rooms, private and very clean.
This is a very busy spot and for good reason. A great place to join for the family.

Cole Harbour Place offers many different family activities all under one roof. It consists of a full-sized fitness centre, three indoor swimming pools (with lifeguards, waterslides and diving boards), and two skating rinks.
The centre offers a wide range of recreational activities including sports, dance, yoga, pilates and much more. Cole Harbour Place is also very well known for its Annual Christmas Craft Market where hundreds of craft-makers and vendors set up booths to sell and promote their homemade goods.
