Old Farm Bed & Breakfast

Where to begin. Now it sounds like most people who go here have a lovely time.
We stayed in the Robert Service Suite, a seperate cottage on the land.
Not that mine was horrible, but I will tell you why I gave one star.
When we arrrived for Valentines weekend, my husband introduced us as a married couple. We sat down inside and the owner looked at me and said «Are you staying here to???» I said … yes… so that was odd, but we were undeterred.
He mentioned that the house would be open to us if we wanted to watch the Olympics inside.
When we went back in the evening, the door was locked and when he answered it was clear we were not invited in (it was just before the openingn cerimony too). We asked when breakfast would be and he chuckled and said that there would be no breakfast CERTAINLY not for THOSE prices ($ 140 a night — only 20 less than the on season rates), nowhere did it mention that breakfast isn’t part of the package on the off season rates! Incidnetally the guest book has many many entries where people staying in that room go on and on about the marvelous breakfasts WE DIDN’T GET! Then we asked if the advertised hot tub was warm and he said it cost too much to keep it warm all the time. We had a reservation! He KNEW we were comming, he could have turned it up for the weekend. Then he said ‘oh but you have the jacuzzi’. Let me tell you this: there is hardly enough hot water in the tank to get that sucker full once. If you’re looking for a leasurly hot soak, you’re not getting it there!
I could have handled all that. Then the kicker: They didn’t service our room. No one came to spend the 10 minutes it takes to check our towls, make our beds and run a carpet sweeper. I had to do it myself. ON VACATION! We ran out of kleenex and god help you if you forgot your shampoo and need more than the one half serving of shampoo provided.
NOT AS ADVERTISED! I’m usually pretty nice about where we stay and we like to leave good reviews but holy cow, talk about non service and false adverstising. Do not stay here unless you ask during your reservations exactly what you will be getting.
