The food is good, the service is good. It has become a happening place on Friday evenings with a mixture of people, families, young people, older people. They now have a sushi bar on the weekends and Ky is amazing. My husband & I go at least every couple of weeks.

Stopped in here for a quick bite. I heard the sushi was excellent and they didn’t disappoint. The sushi menu is a little small but the restaurant offers a lot more then just sushi.

A group of 22 of us dined at The White Whale on Saturday November 21. The food was excellent, but what stood out more was the service. We were able to pre-​order meals for some of our guests the night before so that was ready to go when we arrived. The online menu had not been updated yet so Katie took a photo of the menu and emailed it to me on her own phone. Chloe was our server on Saturday night. What an exceptional server! She remembered everyone by name as she served us and all the food runners that were helping her brought the food out fresh and hot.
We cannot say enough about this great restaurant. You have such a wonderful staff. I am sure you know it!

Downgrading my rating to 4 stars (from 5 stars last year). I’ve eaten there twice in the last couple months and the quality of food has gone down a bit. Not bad but no longer great. Plus the serving sizes are really small, especially for the price tag and pub atmosphere. And I’m usually not hung up on serving sizes. Service is still great and still best beer selection in town. I’d recommend the white whale for beers and appies until the dinner menu improves a bit.

Complete deliciousness! From the start-​mushroom soup with raclette cheese toast. A salad of root vegetables with an unbelievable coffee gel. As my entrée an amazing mushroom pizza, I will dream about. Last but certainly not least a salted caramel cheesecake with chocolate ganache! Thank you Lord

Shared a bunch of appies. Hot wings. to much sauce made for slimy wings. Mushrooms. not bad a all. Good size, not too much batter, great dip. Octopus. little chewy. Was expecting a little more. But nice presentation. Date had the seafood chowder. Said it was a little too watery but nice flavor. I of course tried their Caesar. They were out of oysters but still charged me full price. (If you haven’t read my other reviews I tend to nitpick) I’ll be back to try some of their entrées.

Amazing food! Did I say amazing food?!? The tuna w/​salsa verde was incredible. And the steak frites was prepared with an artistic flare. I love it it when a local hangout prepares food with love. The beer selection was above par as well — well done White Whale, well done!

A great pub like atmosphere but also appropriate for families. When I visited I sat on the patio by the river. A beautiful view. The fish and chips were amazing. The menu had a great mixture of classic pub meals but also some unique meals were included. I would strongly recommend a visit to the white whale!

Meh. Not great at all. Nice location, but the food selection was odd. I had the seafood ramen bowl and the noodles were all glommed together in one big hunk, the egg was cold, as was the shrimp that was just tossed on top. The server filled my water glass up with ice and said «oh we’ll just put it in the sun, it will melt». Won’t go back.

We were told that the White Whale had good pub food. Can’t say how many times I’ve heard that only to end in disappointment!
This was far, far from the case with the White Whale. The number of enticing dishes truly made it difficult to make decisions, For starters, it was happy hour when we showed up for a very late lunch. Buck a shot, tender sweet oysters and an impressive array of beers on tap for $ 5. Items such as Duck Confit in a glass, roasted octopus, Chorizo burger, Falafel Burger and one of the more interesting arrays of pizzas.
So we had the Chorizo burger with a side kale salad. The burger comes on a potato flour bun and the chorizo burger is housemate, can’t say enough good about it. Also a chicken mole pizza which was incredibly good with a multitude of flavors. Really couldn’t eat much else after that.
Now looking forward to the summer as its a waterfront restaurant with deck and dock. Should be fun and I dout you’ll be disappointed.

AMAZING! We were visiting The Island for work and stopped in here for dinner on a Monday night. I instantly smiled upon opening the menu, happy to see locally sourced options on the menu, including the beer! We walked in and sat @ the bar, Bartender was helpful. Excited to say I had the lucky chance to meet the chef, LOVED the organic sirloin steak that Chef cooked to perfection for me! I walked in super hungry and started with the Fresh Shucked Oysters Half Dozen. Enjoyed the Oyster thoroughly! We had a chocolate topped something for desert with which I ordered a dark beer. Entire experience was fun & I’d like to go back for a live music night!
