History

Established in 2010.

Coquitlam Family Orthodontics was established by Dr. Michelle Couto, a certified specialist in orthodontics for children, teenagers, and adults. Having spent several years living in Coquitlam while attending to her university education, Dr. Couto fell in love with Coquitlam and the wonderful families that lived here. From the personal experience of braces as a child and the time spent living in Coquitlam was born Coquitlam Family Orthodontics — a quality focussed provider of orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign, in the Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody areas.

For my orthodontic education, I first attained my DMD from Nova Southeastern University before graduating from Loma Linda University with my MS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

As with most professions, orthodontics is always changing and evolving with new methods and technologies. In order to provide my patients with high quality services, I always strive to keep abreast of the latest proven orthodontic procedures. As a part of my continuing education, I regularly attend the Invisalign Summit, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics and American/​Canadian Association of Orthodontics Conventions. I am also an active member and orthodontics advisor to the Northwest Dental Study Club.
