Blue Mountain Market & Bottle Depot

While I generally love this place, I just had one of the most awful experiences there.
It’s after the holiday season and it’s a weekend. Of course it will be busy. People will have to wait. I showed up, there was a lineup and I figured I’d have to wait 20 – 30 minutes to get my bottles processed.
What my big annoyance was that they took people out of order. While I ended up waiting 30 minutes, some people got through in 5 minutes or less. They essentially cherry picked the lineup for «easy» ones. They made me wait longer because of some perceived efficiency on their part. It’s not efficient if I don’t come back is it?
Getting mad for having to wait a long time in a lineup is one thing, getting mad because you are being treated unfairly is another.
When I showed up, I was in a cheery mood. When I left, I was somewhat angry to the point of considering not ever returning as a matter of principle.
This place is great when it’s quiet, awful when it isn’t. The only reason they maintain a second star is that they still sort the bottles for you.

I hadn’t heard about this place, I just stopped in because it was convenient and I’m glad I did. I had 6 large garbage bags full of bottles and cans. They told me to dump them out on the side section, and then they counted them for me! I took my receipt in to the cashier in the attached store and I was on my way. In less than 15 min. Excellent and I’ll come back again!
Only draw back was that really busy for mid morning on a Friday, and there isn’t much parking.
