I love tile. There, I said it. I love it so much that I attended one of those free Home Depot classes where they teach you how to use various tools necessary to effectively select, cut, lay, grout and seal tile. Sad, I know, but nothing beats the feeling of selecting a stone, preparing the area and doing the work yourself… and having friends say«wow» My last visit to Rivalda was a fluke… I was driving down Jane St and saw a sign saying Tile Sale… wrong red cape to wave in front of this bull! Went in thinking, I need to refinish my fireplace and maybe something on the wall behind it(it’s one of those 3 sided fireplaces). After spending at least 45 minutes looking at various tiles, stones, marbles, etc, I settled on a ledge rock called Picasso. The staff I dealt with were amazing. The gentleman on the floor, although very busy, took the time to explain the various stones and the price points. I then went to the counter and ordered my stone… which turned out to be cheaper than quoted(I felt like that woman in the Ikea commercial(start the car, start the car)). The person who I dealt with at the counter was professional, funny and a joy to deal with. You then have to drive around to the back of the building where you give a copy of your receipt to a person who then loads the stone into your car. Although it was a cold, snowy day, he even wished me a happy Family Day. Great customer service from an area you would not expect it. Up next… shower stall re-tiling. Guess where I’ll go for the stone…
