This place is great! Given the size of the complex the amount of reptiles it houses is amazing! It is very well organized with a lot of information on the creatures. We took our little ones to Reptilia and everyone had a blast! There are shows every hour, there are feeding times that you can go an watch the handlers feed the reptiles, this place can keep you quite entertained for 1 – 2 hours!
The $ 15 is a fair place given the amount of employee, reptiles and I can only imagine the heating costs! Yes, you can probably walk through Reptilia in 30 mins but you are probably not looking at each of the different reptiles and reading up on their info.
Another pro, the Amazon washroom is definitely designed with kids in mind, loved it!

Citizens of Vaughan, did you know you had a zoo right here in the middle of your city? I’m not talking about your experience at Vaughan Mills mall on weekends/​holidays. There’s literally a zoo and by chance not far from Vaughan Mills, consisting of Reptiles galore.
When’s the last time you where in a building full of cold blooded creatures? Yeah, I know the people at the office can be cold at times but maybe you can bring your co-​workers to Reptilia because I’m sure they will enjoy it as much as I did.
Ever heard of an Alligators horny mating call? Come here during the right time of season and you may just get lucky. ;-) It bellows so loud you can hear all around the building. What’s that? Of course you can get physical. Zoo keepers present on stage with a few snakes, lizards and you get to touch and feel certain ones.
Live feeding was another highlight and you’ll know it when you see a mass of kiddies running in one direction, follow them because they know what’s good for you. How I wish I could swallow food whole, without choking to death that is.
If I was 5 and I saw all this, I would be telling stories to all my friends at school on Mondays that’s if they didn’t all go together and it’s definitely an event you go in larger groups, much more exciting to share the experience. I have to say, it was a memorable day trip. It felt like I was learning on The Magic School Bus, but this was real face-​to-​face with an Alligator type education.

Even though this museum is only 5 minutes away from our home, we never visited it before. So when we noticed a deal for this museum on Groupon (at $ 7 a pop), we decided to buy the coupons and take the kids there. We checked feeding schedule hours (note that the URL on Groupon is wrong) and went there on Sat afternoon when they had alligator feeding. Surprisingly, despite the Groupon deal, the place wasn’t crowded at all, there were only two other couples with kids at the feeding. The whole exhibit took an hour, but we all liked it, especially the kids. They really liked holding lizards, they even tried to convince me to touch them but I preferred to enjoy at the distance :)

Now this was a great experience because my date and I slowly looked at everything and it was a great connecting time that sparked a lot of interesting discussion. If I was here on my own, it would be 2.0, maybe 2.5 stars. If I was with a meetup group or with friends, then it would probably get 3.0 to 3.5 stars. I would give it 3.5 stars and round it up to 4.0. These are the type of things you do once in awhile, so I can never see myself coming back.

Thank God I had purchased a Groupon to come and check out this reptile zoo. Otherwise, I would have been pretty upset. I took my two cousins 8 and 12 with me during the week after lunch. We had checked the schedule online to make sure we got a couple of the shows and were able to see a live feeding. The show was somewhat informative and the boys enjoyed touching the snakes. The feeding was interesting. Perhaps somewhat cruel to the animals. The boys liked that part the best: s
The place was pretty darn small you could walk end to end in 20mins easy. Many of the enclosures were lacking with reptiles not being there… to them not having any water.
It was just ok. more like a 2.5 rating … I wouldn’t go again and as a teacher I probably wouldn’t bring my class.

What I thought was cool
–the crocodiles
–the frogs
–the value (a groupon of 50% off is worth it, but not the full price)
What I didn’t like
–crickets on the floor and lamps OUTSIDE the confinement
–a tad bit boring, was in and out of there within 45 minutes.

Went to reptilla on one of the first warm sunny Sundays in April. Was told by staff this was a great choice because it wasn’t at all busy. Score.
There’s lots of parking. When you walk in, there’s a huge gift shop. Huge.
Cost: regular admission $ 15. That’s what I paid. Apparently there are always groupons and stuff. Look for one!
So. Its warm and humid in there since most reptiles live in that environment. All I can think is that the staff that work there must have lovely soft skin because of the humidity.
Displays. Lots of snakes, lizards, and turtles, oh my.
They have freakin’ crocodiles and alligators!
We saw a constrictor eat a bunny rabbit. Cool!
The only thing. I was conflicted. They had tiny displays
The place is smaller than you think, but has a lot of things to see.

I think I am in love… with a Chameleon.
I am never a fan of reptile till my first ever visit to Reptilia: a reptile zoo.
Reptilia is small but well organized. If you just want to walk through the whole exhibit, it would take you less than 30 minute. And you might be a little disappointed since you paid $ 15 admission and that’s not much to see?!
Tip is to check their website for feeding schedule which is usually on a weekend so you can see these predators in action.
Watching an albino boa constrictor eating a whole rabbit and crocodiles feeding on fish and lobsters were definitely the highlight of my visit. Listening to a crocodile roar which has an effect of me being in Jurassic Park was priceless!
Each hour in the theatre, zoo keeper would have a little presentation of different reptiles and you can even pet them gently! Everyone got a chance to be close and up front with a snake, a baby crocodile or whatever animal they were doing a presentation with!
The paid admissions helps in running of the facilities which is well maintained and the animals all looks happy.
I just wish the staff would be more straight with their NO flash photography policy. I just feel so sorry for this little chameleon that got flashed numerous of times during the presentation up close. And why would one want to flash a bunch of crocodiles?!

Wow. what can I say… hidden in the northern part of the GTA is an amazing place where if your a fan of reptiles you have to visit Reptilia! I came here on a CMYE #GoTAYELPTHIS event organized by Kris U. The location is situated in a very unassuming industrial building in Vaughan very near to Vaughan Mills and Wonderland.
Entering the building your greeted by the front desk area and the retail store. Stuffed lizards and snakes adorn the walls and various items for the reptile lover or collector are available to purchase. The cost of admission is $ 15 dollars for an adult day pass. Speaking to the front desk staff, they can accommodate groups, birthday parties and private functions as well as the day to day operations.
You enter viewing area and you are immediately greeted by various lizards, turtles, snakes, frogs, crocodiles, alligators and almost any type of reptilian fauna you can think of. As a guest you follow a path that winds and weaves through the building past different exhibits and living habitats of each creature. On different hours and days they showcase «Live feedings» of the inhabitants of Reptilia. The «Live feeding» is not really showing live animals being fed, but the «live» feeding of the reptiles using dead animals. On our visit we had a chance to witness a «live» feeding of an albino boa constrictor. OMG wow… I have seen small animals being consumed by snakes, but never a full sized rabbit… hair and all. I was wondering if the kids there would be turned off or scared, but all of them were so interested. The staff at Reptilia are great, they are very helpful and explain things perfectly for kids and adults as well on the happenings of Reptilia.
I walked around viewing the reptiles and I noticed that they have a volunteer program for kids and teens and I think adults as well. There is also a program in which you can bring your child once a week to «work» as a junior volunteer. This includes helping guests, following the reptile handlers and even feeding the reptiles in the enclosures. Looks like a great program for kids!
Reptilia is well run and the staff there are friendly and informative. Its a different experience than just going to the zoo and it can be enjoyed year round. The only downside is that some of the exhibit pathways are narrow and on busy days I can see it being difficult to view the exhibits up close. I would rate it a 5 for experience, but I have to dock a star for that issue. Reptilia… solid 4 stars

wow I can’t believe I didn’t review this place yet! It’s one of my favourite things to do. The tickets are regularly at $ 15 per adult, but they offer 2-​for-​1 deals on Groupon and such. Still at $ 15 (a movie ticket price), this is a fantastic 100% indoors zoo.
It’s sort of like a giant pet store.
oh yes, did you know you can also visit fish stores (aquariums) and pet stores for fun. There are a few «other» pets stores if you do a quick search (pets like spiders, tree frogs, moss frog, snakes, and even anemone which is the home for nemo’s aka clownfish). These are all free of course. But Reptilia is a tunnel FULL of reptiles. It is bigger than it looks, it’s an endless tunnel of creatures.
Each of the animal’s «home» is brightly lit, big (spacious), clean (especially the waters), the zoo does not smell, and there is no aggressive behaviour of any kind (probably meaning, these creatures are well-​fed and happy).
As for the pedestrians’ walkway, there is enough space for baby strollers to pass between wandering kids, the gawkers, and the Japanese-​style tourists uh. photographers.
Events we saw were:
— the feeding of the great Nile crocodile 1000lbs
— the feeding of the rattle snake (he was fed a dead rat)
— a talk about a snake, we caught the last 1 minute maybe. You can pet the snake and hold it. These talks happen quite often during the day, you can just wait around until they start again.
The photos usually won’t turn out very nicely due to the glass, so please, move along.
The staff here is phenomenal. Do we have too many idiot kids and their parents? The staff handles these guys with so much patience, all day, every day. The zoo’s feeding events are the closest way visitors can get to «interacting» with the reptiles. And with kids, dumb teens, and even arrogant duds throwing «omg are you kdding me» kind of questions, you will see how knowledgeable and passionate the staff is here at Reptilia.

All in all this was a surprisingly well implemented zoo. For everyone wanting to learn more about the slithering species of the world this is the place to go. The exhibits were stunning and they have live feedings every day. Perhaps their best features are the extras — their programming is phenomenal!

I was plesantly surprised by how much I liked Reptillia.
We visited on a rainy Saturday morning with a near expiring Groupon (2 for 1 admission). They charged us the tax of admission, not included in our Groupon deal (boo-​urns).
A majority of the animal displays are at a good height for roaming toddlers… ours had a ball pointing and squealing at all the animals. We also liked that you get to view the animals pretty upclose and stare into the beady eye of the giant crocodile!
We checked out the beginning of the morning show in the theatre. They brought out a few creatures for the kids to see/​pet (giant spider, snake, etc).
Super friendly staff members throughout Reptillia, eager and willing to answer questions and introduce the creatures to the kids.
Definitely a closer alternative to the Zoo for us and a cheaper outing than Ripleys Aquarium. You will be occupied here for at least 1.5−2hrs.

Not sure why their website would post children 0 – 3 are free of charge then charge me for my 3 year old when I show up. Bad business sense. They told me the website hasn’t been updated since 2013. So for those of you coming from far be prepared to pay for more as I doubt the prices on the website reflect the price they’ll charge you when you get there.

First time here a week or so ago — came on a date. We were running a little late and they were SO accommodating. Let us walk around and take our time (although some or the lights for certain exhibits were off as it was after the last tour time).
Bunch of cool animals, everything was clean and well maintained and the staff were happy to answer our questions.
Also got a showing or whatever in the stage room where we got to meet and learn about a bunch of awesome amphibians.
Enjoyed it!

With a Groupon deal loaded on my phone I didn’t think I would have anything to lose. I brought my 3 year old daughter here and we had a real blast.
The facility is very well run and well kept. It was bigger with more exhibits than I had imagined. The shows and feedings were handled by knowledgeable, articulate staff who were engaging and fun. My daughter loved it, but even more amazing so did I!
I was really impressed with this place and would return even at full price. Definitely good value for the money and entertaining and educational for the kids.

This place is awesome!!! I didn’t knew this existed till recently… A Zoo for Reptiles.
The place isn’t that big but has all the goodies. I will give it to the management, as the place which could be finished viewing within half an hour… they keep you entertained and by the time you know it, you are looking at half a day and much more.
These guys have it all various snakes, alligator & crocodiles, lizards, turtles, even spider (not a reptile :)), they have shows every hour, where they show you 3 animals and tell you about them and you can touch them as well. There are animal feeding times such as feeding King Cobra or the American Alligators and the list goes on.
So by the time you look at some animals, its time for the show and then you look at few more and then feeding time… and that goes on the rest of the day. That’s why it takes more time to finish a small place like this.
They give you better and best for the ticket you have purchased. They also have a photo opportunity with a baby alligator for $ 10. You will be holding it :)
There is plenty of parking, washrooms are clean, they have coat/​jacket hanging place and they have a store as well.
The kids would love it as well as if you enjoy reptiles or animals this is the place.
I loved it! Check it out, then you can go to Vaughan mills near by for some shopping :)

My four and two year old really enjoyed the place. My wife however was horrified as there are some seriously large reptiles here!!! For the price and the element of surprise, this place does not disappoint.
Perfect for a rainy day, plan for 60 minutes, and don’t miss the live feedings!

Living in York Region my entire life I have never seen a place quite like Reptilia, a Zoo… for reptiles only??? I have seriously driven past this place, Rutherford just east of Jane, 1000 times since it opened years ago and nary a visit have I made inside it’s doors.
Following the lead of my Richmond Hill amigo Alex M, I must say that I agree with how amazing this spot is. Imagine, a full on reptile zoo only minutes from your home. However if there is ever an earth quake and this place spills it’s reptile guts into Vaughan, I am getting the EF outta here.
I poked my head in today and after asking a bunch of questions about their exhibits and animals a staff member offered to take me through for a quick peak. Almost as soon as we walked through the entrance gates a LOUD throaty growl shook the walls and scared the SHIT outta me… I think I literally peed a little in my CM-​underroos. Laugh if you want but after just watchin Jurassic Park in 3D this weekend I am on high alert.
The growl ended up not being from a rogue T-​rex as my overactive self conscious had me believe, but a very captive American Alligator. Weighing in at 500lbs and 12 feet when it growled again as I walked by, I fully emptied my bowels into my Levi’s and moved on.
Things didn’t get better from there — I mean they did, b/​c the exhibits are wicked sweet — but after not so long we moved into the snake exhibit where I learned that all snakes still have their fangs and full venom sack intact… awweeeessseoommmmmeeee :-/​
Moving along…
It did take a about 10 – 15 minutes to walk all the way through the zoo (then again I was power walking and didn’t have kids with me to slow me down). But all the exhibits are amazing and the reptiles are so close you can «almost» touch them.
If you would like to bring your own scaly friend home, the front ½ of this building serves as a pet store for turtles, lizards, snakes and other reptiles for your home. They have literally everything from terrariums and decore, animals, books, food, the works.
Casually creeped out, but thinking it’s kinda awesome to have this place so close to home

Snakes, lizards, crocs, turtles — every reptile you can or can’t think of, you’ll find them here.
We took out little niece here recently and she had a blast.
The place isn’t big and you can go through it in 10 minutes… or you can choose to mozy down the path, greet every little (or not so little) critter that is pretending to be dead most of the time, and take two hour to reach the amphitheatre.
Now the theatre is where kids have the most fun. Shows start every 90 minutes or so. The kids get to learn about some exhotic animals and even touch them.
Feedings are fun too.
The gift store by the exit offers a lot of of opportunities to take a toy reptile home.
Again, the place is not big at all but for us it’s much easier to get to than Toronto Zoo or Science Centre.

A nicely kept place, big enough to keep the toddlers happy, small enough to be out of there in 40 minutes.
Everything to toddlers is big, so to them, even this place with limited display space will keep them fascinated. I am a fan, so that being said I will give them a 4 star. Would have given a 5 if they actually had more spiders.
