The BEST boiled wings ever ! Served within two minutes of order. Luke warm and bland! Shared our thoughts with the server who was keen to know. Beer however was pretty good. Our second visit…

Consistently good food(love how the menu changes with every season), and all meals are made with local ingredients. But more important than the food(for me, at least): THEBEER! Flights of 4 samples are $ 9, which is a tad pricey but at least it gives you the opportunity to sample sample sample. Their ‘Nosy Parker Porter’ is always good, and the ‘Swamp Fly’ is lovely(it’s a sour ale, so if you like a bit of tartness in your beer, try this one.) The staff are friendly, the washrooms are clean, and the Retail Shop is well-stocked with booze and merch. Keep up the good work, Northwinds!(…and please don’t ever let Labatt buy you. Or Molson. *sigh*)

Excellent and large selection of beers. 17 taps or more. And most brewed in house with a few guest taps. The three stage extra pale ale was as hoppy as I expected and hoped it would be. Which was pretty hoppy. Fish if the fish and chips was great. Fries were fine but not epic. Slaw was dressed nicely as I had good flavour. Wish the beer flights were a bit cheaper. 9 dollars for 20 ounces when I could get a pint for 6.50 was too much of a premium for me

We decided to try Northwinds based on our concierge’s suggestion. We passed by it while going to Pie(beside it). I would definitely say that if you are in the same plaza to bypass Northwinds and go to Pie as their food and service are much better. The servers and greeter were the grumpiest people I’ve seen. There were flies everywhere so it made dinner difficult to eat as you had to constantly swat at the flies to keep them from landing on your food. The food was average taste as we ordered the mussel chowder(way too salty), chicken«schnitzel»(the coating was so thick and hard as rock) = nothing like schnitzel, and also ordered the mussel special which gave my husband the runs that night. The only entertaining thing was the GoPro videos that were shown on the TVs.

A truly awesome, must-visit place in Collingwood! Great food, delicious beer, and friendly staff. Tried this place twice during my solo trip to blue mountain. On my first time, I walked in as they were calling last calls. I felt bad for walking in at such hour, but the staff were all very friendly and kept me company at the bar. Tried their IPA called the Crazy Horse, and it was delicious. On my second visit, I tried their club sandwich on the lunch menu, as well as their American Lager called the Junkyard Cat. The beer was hoppier and more flavourful than the average lagers, would definitely recommend! Their club sandwich though — the MVP home run king of my experience here! A pair of very crunchy and toasty bread pieces holding the smoky and juicy chicken breast pieces, crispy bacon strips, chunks of melted cheese, and some fresh tomatoes and veggies(forgot what they were) that gave off that fresh veggie chewiness and resistance, and added slight herby taste to the overall eating experience!(Please forgive the run on sentences — I’m very excited about this club.) Overall, I’m very happy with their service, beer selections, and food taste/quality! I’d recommend this place to all that visits blue mountain and/or Collingwood! Cheers! P. S. Forgot to add — their POUTINE is amazing too! Generous chunks of cheese curds are melted by the delicious and flavourful gravy, accompanied by smokey, chewy, and delightful surprises presented by the pea meal bacon chunks. Just LOVELY. The portions were quite generous in my opinion, so you can choose to order the poutine as a shared dish with friends, or you can substitute your side of fries with a smaller poutine for $ 4 extra, which I would say is definitely worth it. Come here with an empty stomach with cravings of good food and beer! Cheers!

When I first saw the inside of this place, I thought«jackpot!», funky looking brewery/restaurant that’s lively and busy, but not too crazy packed. Waitress told us the wait was 10 – 15 minutes, not bad at all! Well it turned out to be more like a 30 minute wait… not disastrous, but we were pretty starved by the time we sat down. Nobody acknowledged our presence for a good 20 minutes after that, which was pretty annoying… But then finally someone came and we got to order fleets or beer, and they were great! 4 samples of any of their beers on tap… Delish! My favourite was the Moonlit Wit. Anyways, then we order food, and this is where things go downhill again… I ordered an Asian noodle salad with shrimp. It was $ 20, a bit steep for a salad, but I was making an effort to eat healthy. Well the salad was overly acidic and bothered my stomach a bit, and it came with a total of 3 shrimp on top. 3?! Come on, even in high end restaurants with fancy small portions you get at least like, 5 shrimp! Anyways, I was none too pleased. My boyfriend ordered a burger and fries, and I didn’t try the burger but the fries were pretty fantastic. Guess you need to research what’s best to order here. After eating, we were ignored again by the staff and it took a while to get our bill… So if I do come here again, I would definitely just go for drinks at the bar.

Finally got a chance to try out Northwinds on my second trip to Collingwood this year. It was closed for a staff event the first time we attempted to go. Called in the afternoon to make a reservation for a table of 4 for later that evening. After our boarding sesh at Blue, we came in hungry and thirsty. We ordered a round of drinks — a variety of brews to choose from($ 7-$ 8/pint). I tried a dark stout which went nicely with my burger($ 16). Impressed that I could actually order the burger medium rare! We also shared a Pico Caesar Salad($ 11) to start. Service was on point, especially for a busy Saturday night. Food was pretty good. I found my burger a bit on the salty side but still decent. Also picked up some sudsy souvenirs on the way out — 4 bottles for $ 29. Happy to get out of the Blue village and try Northwinds.

My wife and I had lunch at this restaurant today. My wife ordered the Portobello Mushroom burger and I ordered the maple bacon burger. I ordered a side of poutine to go along with my meal. We were both very happy with our meals. The prices were a little higher than we prefer to pay for similar fare, however what we received was delicious. The service we were treated to was prompt and the servers know their food well(as they should). The home made ketchup was a very nice surprise! The corned beef poutine was a highlight for me as well. It was excellently balanced between the curds, fries and beer gravy. My only complaint is that I have to travel 2 hours to return.

We had a large group there recently. Collingwood is severely lacking in good restaurants, so I had high hopes. First and foremost: The beer. I thought it was great. I liked the wide range of styles(i.e. not 6 kinds of IPA). I did two flights and enjoyed both. The Brown ale was my favorite. As for the food, it gets a decent pass. The burger was tasty, as was the venison tourtière. The fries were good. Nothing was mind blowing, everything was good. The pretzel app was good but the cheese dip was a tad bland. Like my wagyu burger, my daughter’s portobello burger was good. I’d return because the beer is great and the food is just fine. I wish I could combine the beer and ambiance of Northwinds with the food of their neighbour across the street.

Great new spot in Collingwood! Tried a flight of their in house brewed beers, delicious. Ordered the chorizo tacos, fried chicken leg with risotto, and wagyu beef burger. All of the food was above average, and our waitress Theresa was awesome!

Went to Northwinds for dinner with my wife. We visit Collingwood often and saw this new restaurant and wanted to try it out. Being a brew pub with beer made on site is great. They have a variety of their own beers to suit most tastes. I did see some tables order a sampler of different beers. For dinner, we ordered the pretzel appetizer. It came hot, buttered and salted and had two different mustards on the side which was nice. For the main course, I had venison tourtière(fancy name for a meat pie) and was quite good. My wife had the crispy chicken curry on rice. She thought it was just ok. As per some of the reviews, I would say the food is good but overpriced for what you are getting. Our dishes were $ 22 each. Total for one app, two mains, soft drink and beer was $ 60 before tax. I would say it was good enough for us to return one day. If you enjoy beer, then I would recommend.

I gave it a try with my wife after the cinema for dinner. We both ordered the Wagu burger off a rather sparse menu. The burgers when they came were way over salted, the bun so stale it broke when bitten. The fries were overcooked and a very small portion. At $ 16 for a burger it was disappointing. Overall the ambience seemed to be lacking something. The staff were efficient and the food came quickly, however the place was too badly lit to read the menu without my phone’s light. I am sure the beer is good(it must be at that price), but there are better places to eat. Not sure what demographic this places was aimed at, the spartan décor seems to be beer and skateboards, but the off-season customers were more the over 50 crowd. It’s not bad… It’s just not great either.

First impression are impressive. Large stainless steel tanks in a rustic cabin-like décor. Once seated it took almost 10 minutes to be approached by the waitstaff. Our order was placed and in less than 5 minutes it was at the table. I ordered the lamb curry which comes in two round pita — like tacos. Each pita had maybe 3 cubes of lamb and a couple of chick peas with maybe a dozen fries on the side. The pita was dry, so when I bit into it, the pita cracked and the filling fell out. My son ordered from the kid’s menu which consisted of just 3 options. To have a entrée and dessert cost $ 10 for kids. I personally feel that the portions are too small for the price charged. On the other hand the beer was very nice. The wait staff were efficient but did not show much friendliness or warmth. If you just want to go out for some nice beer this is the place to go but if you want a filling dinner maybe try somewhere else.

Northwinds maybe one of my dream brewpubs if I going to have my own brewery one day. A brewmaster making new and amazing beers every week. A chef that works with local ingredients. A beer store selling beers to the locals. A tasting and drinking bar staffed with knowledgeable bartenders. Fish Tacos($ 12) and Beer Sampling for $ 8⁄4. A chic and spacious simplistic interior. I just wish it is closer to home.
