We knew a farmer who raised a pig we called Penelope. Well sad to say she was our food supply. Good thing I didnt see her go to get butchered but Johnston is where she went & its a very professionally run shop that packed our meat and made delicious bacon & sausages for less than the price at a supermarket. If you know a farmer & you have children its a great learning experience to feed an animal & see it being raised. Howevever I still must detatch myself & cannot bear to see it get killed & didnt w Penelope the pig. We visited & fed her. I still must call pork food & nota former farm animal. Really makes me consider being a vegetarian.
