Great food and awesome friendly staff
I bring my 3 exchange student for breakfast on Sunday, we had different dishes and the all were excellent presentation and taste good too!

Excellent diner! Four of us had breakfast, three egg Benny’s and a Holy Cowichan Bowl. All prepared perfectly, including the eggs «soft». The staff was friendly, the hot chocolate delicious

Excellent little gem in the heart of Chemainus that serves great food, including quite a few gluten free dishes as well.
We had the cowichan bowl — delicious sweet potato hash with beef brisket, eggs and hollandaise sauce — fabulous! and the classic eggs benny — excellent job! The yogurt parfait is made with home made granola and good yogurt, the muffins are fresh made, and did I mention they have gluten free treats here as well?
They have a nice selection of teas that come in big pots so you don’t have to keep refilling.
The menu isn’t huge, but there is a good spread of choices for everyone.
Everything here is made from scratch, so expect it all to be good, but don’t expect it to be very fast — the price you have to pay for quality.

The posted menu wasn’t what we were looking for but we told them what we wanted and they gladly accomidated our request. it so turned out well. Located in downtown area right across from the Willow Street café. Everything is made to order so don’t expect fast food. We had bacon. Eggs (sunny side up) and hash (regular potatos, sweet potatos, onions, red peppers) very tasty. Bathrooms are very clean. Friendly staff. Coffee was ok.

The Owl’s Nest Bakery and Bistro is new to Chemainus. We had breakfast there and we loved our meals. My wife had a Yogurt Parfet and I had a Breakfast Panini, both were excellent. Our friends enjoyed their meals too. Their bakery items look great. Best of all they serve Drumroaster Coffee, which is the best coffee on Vancouver Island.

We enjoyed a great breakfast here. We split the rather large Cowichan Bowl, sort of a shredded beef hash with poached egg and hollandaise sauce, easily large enough for the two of us. The coffee was excellent and we got a couple strawberry cupcakes to go which we enjoyed later that day. We will definitely be back for more! Great food, nice people, and a pleasant location.
