Does the job!
Clean, comfortable and is like most other HI Express hotels.
Comes with breakfast in the morning.
Good location, quiet and very accessible to the 401 (only 10 minutes off the hwy)
Friendly staff.
Lots of parking.

Serves Its Purpose. Clean and Professional.
I’m under the impression that the Holiday Inn Express chain of hotels is primarily for temporary business stays. With this in mind, this hotel fulfills all your needs for such a stay. The pool is probably half the size of a standard 25m pool so you’d reach the other end within six strokes. The fitness room holds four machines that are all running/​biking related (i.e. treadmill, elliptical, stationary bicycle). So it may be hard for some individuals to meet their exercise needs.
The complimentary breakfast was decent considering it is free. Bread, bagels, eggs, cold hard boiled eggs, omelettes, sausage (tasted kind of weird), bacon (occasionally), instant pancake machine, cinnamon rolls, bananas, yogurt, tea, coffee, juice. The taste is acceptable in general, while some items such as the cinnamon rolls and pancakes were pretty good.
The TV signal quality is quite bad. It’s a stretched image that’s quite fuzzy with many channels. The wireless internet is acceptable for browsing though you may have to wait if you are downloading files or browsing YouTube.
The walls do seem quite thin as you’ll hear noises from adjoining rooms and across the hall. But it didn’t bother me because my neighbours were normal.
In general, the entire hotel is quite clean and it seems like someone is always vacuuming somewhere to uphold this standard.

the best holiday inn experience I have ever had. Great Hospitality, everything clean and crisp, beautiful lobby. That was a bad day for us, we were in a pile up on a snowy day, and they made us feel like home. The receptionist arranged for us a route to get home, she went out of her way to get us the help, and we really appreciate it. Thank you.

I read the other review for this hotel and I can’t figure out why people were not pleased with their stay here. I mean, it’s not a 5 star hotel so I wasn’t expecting a 5 star experience but I was definitely pleased with my stay.
Upon arrival I was met by a friendly clerk. She got me all checked in and then helped me figure out where I could eat dinner that night. When I returned from dinner, I showed her my directions I had printed off to get to the office tomorrow. She pulled out her own map and gave me way better directions which I was grateful for.
I was offered a paper each morning and told that if I didn’t want it, I would get $ 1 credited to my room rate for each day. I opted out because I didn’t need it and I thought it was nice that she told me I could opt out (even if it did only save me $ 1, the hotel wasn’t that expensive anyway).
The rooms at the hotel were a good size and clean. The bathroom was actually bigger than my one at home and I was loving all the counter space. The air-​conditioning worked great and I was able to get the room to a temperature that was comfortable for me. They didn’t put a mint on my pillow or anything but I don’t really like mints anyway.
The complimentary breakfast in the morning is nothing to brag about but people around me seemed to enjoy their cinnamon rolls and once I scraped the weird cheese out of the omelet, it wasn’t so bad. They also had fruit, bagels, english muffins, muffins to choose from so I think everyone could find something to tide them over for the morning. They also had plenty of hot coffee which was pretty good. I’m not a huge coffee drinker but I’ve definitely had worse coffee that wasn’t free.
The hotel has a extremely small gym and an indoor pool. I chose to use the pool and not one other person came in when I was there. It was a saltwater pool but my eyes were still red when I got out so I’m sure there are still some chemicals in it.
The location of the hotel is probably the best part. All the restaurants I went to were no more than 10 minutes in any direction… now given this is a small town and is probably true for most hotels but I still enjoyed this fact.
I don’t know when I’ll be back in Chatham but I’d definitely stay at the Holiday Inn Express again!

I had to conduct a couple enrolment seminars today in Chatham. The first one was this morning. Since Chatham is a three hour drive from Toronto, I drove here yesterday and stayed the night.
The hotel is a revamp of the Wheels Inn, which was directed to families with its pool, games, etc. The hotel is undergoing major renovations. There’s a lot of construction on the hotel property … buildings are getting knocked down.
The hotel and room were standard, nothing fancy. I thought $ 130 a night was a lot.
I’ve stay in a lot of hotels and here’s something I’ve never encountered before. The bathrooms in hotel rooms always have shampoo, condition, soap, etc. Here there’s just a cheap crappy soap and a shower cap. I would have expected more from this world-​wide chain.
Just behind the hotel are tracks complete with smelly trains that aren’t moving but are running (my room looked out at them).
The staff at Reception were friendly.
Self-​serve breakfast is included … cereals, bagels, yogurt, scrambled eggs, etc. No other meals are served so you have to go elsewhere … the closest restaurants are about a five minute walk away.
I had a couple hours between seminars to kill. I was able to work in the deserted lobby restaurant which has WIFI.
