I’m all out surprised that the Mercantile doesn’t have a Unilocal review yet, being that it’s a stones throw from the ferry. All the better for my on-​going FTR mission I suppose.
My mother lives up Isabella Point, so this spot is the closest for groceries. Not that anything is really «far» on Salt Spring, but it’s a 7 minute drive vs. a 20 minute and sometimes, you just want to get bread, cheese and back to the patio for wine and ferry watching.
I love this store.
If you’re coming over from the mainland, you may raise your eyebrows at some of the prices but do keep in mind… you’re on an island and as previous mentioned, this i
