2 something hours and I’m BEAT. Man, I didn’t realize I had disc golfing would involve climbing hills, braving the sharpest of thistles, not to mention the blister I’m going to suffer in my fingers from all that disc throwing. Let me just finish the last of this WAAAAHHHHHHCRYBABY burger… For 12 dollars, a day trip to WJ is worth it. We took the most scenic drive to get here and I recommend coming here just when Fall nears because the beauty of the trees are enough to warm the empty sock where my heart is supposed to be For 12 dollars you can get the best disc golf instructional from their friendly attendants(owners/children of the WJ Homestead themselves) this province has to offer. I’m pretty sure it’s the ONLY disc golf instructional you can get, but lucky for us they’re die-hard disc golfers For 12 dollars you get a midrange disc(with the option of a putter and driver disc for $ 1 extra) and 18 courses of the most challenging but fun disc golfing you’ll see in MIllarville… and Calgary. For 12 dollars you also have enough things to INSTAGRAM and SHOWOFFONLINE like: –Alternate targets like window panes, buckets, and baskets –Amazing scenery that serves as a perfect backdrop for you to take your Pro Disc Golf picture –A porter potty that served as the 18th hole target, and also the redeemer course where I scored a badass birdie shot. 20 feet away. From an angle. On top of a hill with trees. With a forehand shot. Now you respect me as a MAN. –And the friendliest GREY OWLs who’ll make themselves visible to you, as long as you’re there to disc golf and not there to eat their BABES. They were HUGE!

Over the river and through the woods… a disc golfing we will go… Calgary and area boasts a few different disc golf courses. A typical game consists of aiming your disc at a metal pole with a chain link target. If you’re up for a course a little bit left of typical, you should head out to eh WJ Homestead Disc Golf Course. Set on 23 acres about 45 minutes southwest of downtown Calgary, heading out to this disc golf course will leave you on par with a pleasant afternoon. The course has 18 ‘holes’, ranging from shovels and metal buckets to barrels, window frames(glass not included) and barbed wire rings. Open shots through some field, harder maneuvering through closed in fairways in the trees, level shots, or uphill and downhill throws, there’s a bit of a challenge at every turn. Now, if you’ve never tried disc golf before, this is an ideal place to start. With a pitch and putt to learn on, the folks here are happy to give you a lesson on grips and throws before sending you off on their course. Fun and family friendly, this course is no bogey for any group looking for a way to spend a sunny afternoon.
