Food coma in full effect!!! I have had them a few times and am still in love with the food. After being rubber armed into trying the greek salad without olives, i did it. So great. Zeus sub was heaven! meatballs full of feta? yes please! The garlic sauce they put on it and the meat balls are just so great! I recommend them full heartedly. April and«Mom» are absolutely sweet hearts as well.

Greek food from a truck. I had the opportunity to try Vasili’s at Calgary’s XFest this year and ordered the chicken pita wrap. It was a good wrap and had a moderate amount of taste but I found it to be a little small and overpriced. Although it was a festival, I believe those prices are their normal prices, so I wasn’t very impressed. Decent Greek food but not very good value.

3.5* You know… it wasn’t bad, pretty good. So, the taste is ok. I loved the feta cheese. Was sooo tasty and seemed very fresh. I liked the big fresh chunks of veggies that I got. One little thing is that the protein(lamb /beef) was not served piping hot… it was warm, but not piping hot. I don’t like having things taste like they’ve been sitting around and just reheated when ordered. I’d like to be cooked to order. That’s my beef with food trucks in general…

Was recently happy to come across this very friendly and interesting food truck. Service was great, something that cannot be said for all trucks. Had the Twisted Pig(like a pork souvlaki wrap) and a greek salad. Both were excellent. The pork had great seasoning and the ingredients were fresh. The tzatziki was on point and the pita. oh god. the pita. perfection. The salad was a little bland but otherwise had a great ingredients. How come everyone has to skimp on Kalamata olives? Portion sizes are a little small – but the salad and the wrap together made a great meal, although it also increased the price to $ 20 with tip which is a lot for a wrap and a salad. That’ll keep this truck from receiving a 5 star rating, but the quality is certainly there. The verdict? Skip Opa or Jimmy the Greek and head to Vasili’s.

Whilst strolling around Marda Loop after a filling brunch, my sister and I stumbled across a food truck parked on 33rd Ave SW called Vasili’s. Intrigued, we stopped to peruse their list and were immediately greeted by a friendly woman from the truck. After chatting with her for a bit, explaining we had already had an elaborate breakfast, she recommended that we try a dessert, and save it for later. We settled on the Ekmek, which we brought home to snack on. To say the least, it was a 5 $ chunk of heaven! With fluffy whipped cream, topped with almond slices, layered atop a bed of phyllo, all the textures coexist so harmoniously! Thank goodness we stopped to check out Vasili’s, I have been longing for more Ekmek every since! They update their Twitter and Facebook pages with their location for the day, as it is ever-changing. Next time, I must try one of their pitas.
