I have to start by saying I shop here all the time and love it. though prices are getting a little high 7.99 for a shirt thats 8.00 in the store but we will leave that for another time. my low rating is due to their donation practices. yesterday we held a garage sale boxed up all the left overs and headed to the shawnessy value village once we got there we started to un pack along with the other ppl that had the same idea, at this time a man came out of the store and started going thru a box I just dropped off I used to work at a liquor store so tge box had a ton of beer shirts he started taking them out of the box and tossed them on the ground. I aaked what the problem was as they were clean and was told they dont take beer clothes. ??? ummm ok so I took ALL the clothes back. secondly we had a dinning room table and chairs as we were taking them out of the car we were told they dont take fabric items(the chairs were covered with padding and cloth on the seats no they were not stained or nasty.) I explained that I knew that couldnt be true as I bought this set from THISLOCATION. I was then told not his problem. so I packed the table chairs and my beer shirts and left. and took them too goodwill who thanked me for the donations and were happy to take them. I will personally never shop at this valu village ever again. and for that matter I will start going to ANY other secondhand store before vv ever again.

Gotta Love this place! From large racks of used clothes to dirt cheap tube tv’s to old board games and college kids record collections! Value Village certainly earns its title. It is as cheap as can be! Pretty much everything here is donated by the people!(except around haloween they stock new costumes to satisfy the heavy demand) I have been coming here for years, just looking around seeing what might be on some shelf or stuffed behind a shoe rack. Its stocked with a whole bunch of junk, but as the saying goes… one mans trash is another mans treasure. Some pretty sweet and very useful items that i have found here: a working cd/tape player for 20.00. A very playable and decent spanish guitar for 15.004 mini casio keyboards 5 dollars each! a very sturdy office chair for 20 bucks!. These are things that have been put to a good amount of use already! one mans trash indeed! hahaha So if you like the idea of a year round garage sale then come to Value Village! you may just find something you can use for a lot less money! Check it!

This is the one location that I bring my large donations to. Simply because they have a back entrance that is so easy to drive to, just off the highway; and there is always a very strong man there to help me. There was a huge assortment of new Halloween costumes this year; wigs, hats and masks. But I don’t usually come here to get my shop on for costumes nor for clothing; I come here to buy books. I have noticed that second hand books are quite expensive now, and although I am not a prolific reader I do love to add to my library. Most paperback novels are a minimum of five dollars now at any used book store and unless you are fortunate in finding a really good garage sale that will sell them for 25 cents to a dollar, then Value Village is of the highest recommendation of book buying from me. All locations I believe carry books but this outlet in particular has well sought out novels in next to new condition and for very cheap. Any soft cover book priced with an original price of over 15 dollars is $ 3.99 here, but the beauty is if you buy 4 you get the fifth one free. Which at the end comes to about 3 dollars for a very solid, and in good condition used book. These are some of the authors I picked up this week Og Mandino, Anne Rice, Margaret Atwood, Paulo Coelho, Carson Maccullers, Michael Ondaatje, and a nice Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
