Nice store, friendly staff. They have at least 3 different activity centers for kids — the magic mirrors, the tunnel and a colouring station. As a tribute to Disney’s awesome marketing machine, this store is über expensive. They do have regular sales and little trinkets on clearance but for the most part, the high-demand items(currently anything Frozen related) stay full price. I occasionally bring my kids here just to play. It’s a fun way to spend 15 minutes or so and see if there’s any good sales.

This is a very pretty new store. As compared to their old concept, you actually feel like you’re walking into Disneyland when you go into the store. The store’s themes, technology, displays, and layout take you out of reality and completely immerses you into the Disney mindset. It’s like you’re drinking the kool-aid without having to actually drink the kool-aid. Well done Disney.

I am biased here as I am a huge Disney fan, and make the pilgrimage to Disney World of Disneyland every year, and have done so almost every year since 1976! I was in Disneyland back in October of this year, and as usual when I was there I bought alot of Disney stuff! I decided to see what the Disney store in Calgary had on offer so i popped in about a month ago to check it out. Like all things Disney, detail and image is important. I was greeted at the front buy a girl standing there with a doll brushing its hair and cheerfully chirping a hello at me. Now in the Disney parks this kind of thing is normal, but in Calgary it borders on odd. Odd, but nice. The pleasant service and way of doing business in the Disney parks is extraordinary, but sadly here it just seems a bit forced. The storefront is a large animated display of Disney characters, and I noticed something unusual. When in the Disney parks everything looks beautiful, and things literally shine. I noticed that the characters in the window and in the store are all painted with a flat paint. a subtle difference to the ones in Disneyland, but not suprisingly that extra magic of shiny glistening EVERYTHING is saved for the disney parks. The store itself is packed with merchandise, all beautifully displayed. At the back of the store there is a large mountain of plush disney toys. There is also a screen at the back of the store that is showing a loop of Disney animated musical clips…(it must drive the poor kids working in the store nuts), and adds to the whole Disney magic feeling. I was there to buy a Disney figure from the movie Tangled and when I later got a chance to look at it was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the figure, detailed clothing and perfect paint job on the face. Cost was only 20 bucks, good deal for such good quality. Girls at the check out were friendly. If you are a diehard Disney fan, this store can provide you with an opportunity to buy the odd piece of Mickey should you need a fix!

Your childhood is calling, and chances are if you’re anything like me, you’ve never been able to walk by The Disney Store without peeking your head in. The Disney store is everything you would hope it to be: All things Disney. We’re talkin’ a vast array of the most popular Disney character merchandise, and LOADS of people channelling their inner child. The service at The Disney Store is just as magical as the entire store. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they officially won me over when they were willing to exchange/return an item, during the Christmas rush, no questions asked. Setting foot into The Disney Store is like being transported into your favourite Disney movies. With an experience like that, how can you do anything but love it!!!
