Skew Gallery

Went to a gallery opening yesterday night, in fact two because they are across the street from one another but I will deal with each one separately.
First of all it is difficult to get here, so make sure you are taking 11^th Avenue heading west to get to this address.
This gallery is in a somewhat industrial section of Calgary, but I like the location, it is a nice clean urban space with clean wallspace and a pretty nice layout.
It was mostly photography last night in large formats, and the gallery drew in Calgary’s art elite, wine was served by the son of the director, who was both charming and very friendly.
The space has two space areas and 4 artists that were showing last night was also very clean and quite dramatic. The Director Bart Habermiller was incredibly friendly and very hospitable so don’t feel intimidated to visit this gallery. He recommended that I check out the sister Gallery Summit across the street that was run by his partner Emily.
All in all a professional space with a warm atmosphere and good quality work.
