This was a pleasant surprise, nestled in where the Chocolate Bar used to live, is Shawarma Cairo. A warm, lovely shop, I was greeted with a huge smile upon entry. I ordered a large falafel wrap and a(I don’t even know what they are called) honey drenched crueller concoction. This place will get 5 stars alone for the fact that parsley isn’t a topping option. Hooray! He topped my falafel full of every delicious morsel available and 4 types of sauces. My order came to $ 8.75, which is an amazing price for the amount of food I got. I took it go as I live just up the hill and preceded to nom down my wrap, and boy was it ever good. The falafel itself is packed full of flavour and the whole wrap was very lemony and had bright flavour profiles. Does that make sense? Probably not, but I almost didn’t want to finish eating the wrap because I didn’t want the experience to end. The dessert thingies were also very good. If you actually know what they are called, please tell me cause I would love to order them by name next time instead of by pointing. I will be frequenting Shawarma Cairo, that is for sure.

Yum! Was driving by with my fiancé and spotted this place. I ran in because I saw they had Koshary ! If you don’t know what that is it is an is an «Egyptian dish of rice and lentils cooked together, topped with pasta, some add spaghetti, a garlic tomato sauce, and garnished with chickpeas and crispy fried onions, with a sprinkling of garlic juice». Since I am a vegetarian I love this dish. I went in and the man at the counter was so friendly. I told him my mother was born in Cairo and he was so excited. I got a few orders of baklava and he threw in a free one :) The baklava is really good here too, almost as good as my mothers ;) If you like middle eastern cusiine definmitely try this place!
