You’ve been driving on the road for days and you need a shower, a toilet and some hot food. The last roadkill racoon you had for dinner wasn’t satisfying and relying on cars to splash water on you from puddles on the road to wash you clean just isn’t cutting it anymore. That’s where places like the Roadking comes to be handy.
This is one of those places where your dreams of being just like BJ&The Bear and other such shows come true. On-​site showers, motel rooms to nap comfortably in, hot chow of different types (all non-​highway culled), internet connections and so on, this is the place that a trucker can get refilled with coffee and gas, recharged electrically and spiritually and all set and ready to face another long hard day on the road. They even offer garage services, a huge car wash for trucks and every other possible mechanical service a big rig could need.
Home of a Tim Hortons and Shifter’s (a 24-​hour restaurant), it’s a friendly enough place for the average person to use as well. And there’s other services such as a barber, legal help (for tickets) and convenience items for hard hitting truckers like fuzzy dice, beef jerky of every flavour, and Modern Bride, Seventeen and Martha Stewart Trucker magazine.
It’s a mecca for the 18-​wheeler, and that’s all that can really be said!
