Specialties
Located in the heart of the Kensington Village shopping and entertainment district, Pages is Calgary’s literary meeting place. We offer over 10,000 new titles in stock at any given time and, through our special order service, we can access most North American titles in print. Our booksellers are all avid readers — they can help you track down that volume you need, suggest a book for your child’s birthday present, suggest titles for your book club, or simply get you a great book to read on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
Our reading series goes year-round, offering the latest Calgary writers, as well as those from across Canada and around the world. Check out our upcoming events calendar to keep on top of what’s happening «upstairs at the bookstore».
History
Established in 1994.
Pages on Kensington is located in a sixty-year-old building in the heart of Calgary’s vibrant Kensington Village. It’s a great part of the city to wander around. You’ll find all of the coffee shops you could ever hope for, a terrific toy store, wonderful clothing boutiques, art and craft galleries, gift stores galore, as well as tons of restaurants and pubs. Spend the afternoon, but reserve some time to browse around Pages — we have your reading covered!
The façade of the Pages building was redone in 1993, but the interior still has the same creaky wooden floors as when it was the first branch library of the Calgary Public Library in 1947. This building has literary bones!
