Simon is all about getting your money and nil about customer care or service. Two days after an overpriced oil change there I had an issue with a dead battery. I told him I needed my vehicle to leave town for a family health emergency and he not only wouldn’t help with any reasonable fixes or suggestions, he happily charged me $ 115.00 for basically doing nothing; cleaning the posts which I could’ve done easily. All I got was this bill and a «you got 30 minutes of drive time» while he was putting up his «Closed» sign right in front of me. He’s a heartless shyster.

I had to have an out-​of-​province inspection done for my vehicle to be registered in Alberta. I had many recommendations to go to North Hill Auto, but they were booked up for a while (now I know why).
My experience at Nikkon was very unfortunate. We found Simon to be condescending to say the least. He wasn’t helpful or informative in my situation. I needed my breaks looked at because they had just been fixed and he charged me An extra $ 100 on top of the expensive inspection, instead of including it. I usually deal with Renfrew Auto (amazing!) but only some shops can do the out of province inspection. I will wait for North hill next time…

Well my story is a little different. This place is just down the street from where I live so it was such a convenient location. I have a mazda miata which I only drive in the summer and was told that I should get an oil change in the Fall before putting it away and then again in the Spring before driving it again. Now if that is not up selling?
I have another vehicle which had a slow tire leak. I took it in to this station and next thing I knew I was told I needed 4 new tires. So I purchased the tires and then when they were being exchanged… I suddenly needed new brakes. I was told by Simon that it was very important to get these changed asap. My son did the brake work and informed me that the brakes were not needing to be replaced especially not as quickly as Simon led me to believe. I took the brake pads into Blaskin & Lane to verify this and was told that there was still sufficient life on them. I then went back to see Simon and he totally changed his story. He then retracted and said … «well, I told you they needed to be changed down the road».
I no longer go to this station. I prefer to drive a little farther and get honest service.

I have the week off, so decided to take advantage of short lines up for everything on a Tuesday afternoon, while everyone else was doing their regular-​person-​during-​the-​day stuff.
An oil change has been on the top of my list for the long time, and seeing as I am headed out of town this week, I felt it was necessary to take care of before hand. I couldn’t decide where to go, so took a look through an extensive coupon book I had at home, and found a $ 10 voucher for Nikkon Auto Services. Also, it was less than 10 minutes from home to boot!
I headed over, and was the only person there at the time for the Fast Lube Service, so had no wait at all. The mechanic who assisted me was friendly and to the point. He did the typical 19 point inspection and changed my oil in good time. Aside from making sure I topped off my windshield washer fluid when I got home, he did not try to up sell at all. This was refreshing, because in the past something that has freaked me out about going for oil changes/​unfamiliar mechanics is all the sneaky up-​selling.
They accepted my voucher no problem. Gave me a sticker to slap on for when I need my next servicing, and I was on my way! After my voucher, my total came to about $ 50, so regular price would be $ 60 for most vehicles with standard oil, which I don’t think is too bad at all!
I will definitely come back to Nikkon Auto Services when my engine requires servicing again, and I definitely recommend you try them them out too. Because of their central location I could see it being busy on weekends, so consider going on a weekday afternoon if you can! They’re open Tuesdays-​Saturdays. :)

I find Simon to be absolutely honest. Years ago, I had no money, and he did a repair for $ 9.00, and got me driving again. I never forgot that kindness. I have been a customer ever since.
