Wow! I have never had a better cardio workout and the great thing is you learn a thing or two about Muay Thai in the process. Mike Miles is a wealth of knowledge and you never feel intimidated. Great place to get in shape, learn new skills, and humility. I could never do a workout at this intensity on my own!

Myself and a few girlfriends found a deal for 20 classes for $ 20 online. I went to my first class and thought it was pretty awesome! With Mike Miles classes, you can do a variety of training, but the one I am going to comment on is specifically the cardio kickbox class. At first, I assumed it would be Tae-Bo like. I was COMPLETELY wrong. This class is run by Irene Miles from 1030 — 1130 am on Sundays. The class began with us jogging around the(small) fitness room. We then did a few series of lunges, squats and direction changes, as well as shadow boxing, pushups and planks. Then we chose a partner(not someone you know), and go to a boxing bag. One partner runs circles around the gym, or does jump squats, and counts to 20 while the other does another move on the bag, as per Irene’s instructions. Repeat x5. Holy crap was it tough. We did so many squats, punches and pushups, my legs were shaky. I would not reccomend this class to people who are not decently fit, because it would extremely hard to keep up with the class, and your partner. The only bad thing is, we used gloves in the class on the bag(needed), and I didn’t really want to buy any, but for those who don’t you can use the ones in the lost anfdfound — which reek btw, but still you don’t notice until after the class, in which I’d hope you wash your hands. The locker rooms is tiny, but hey, that’s not a big deal. The staff are very, very friendly, and Irene is tough but a great teacher. The class was 75% females, and everyone was super nice and encouraging. This is something that I would consider continuing after my passes are up, as it’s an amazing workout, and the place has a good vibe.

I visited Mike Miles for a complimentary one class trial. It was during a beginner’s class on a Friday afternoon and it was a PACKED class. The training room had various sizes of punching bags, a Muay Thai sparring ring, and a training mat. The room was considerably large as the large class was able to run around for warm up. After the warm up, they rounded up all the nonmembers visiting for the free trial and had us train with a senior fighter. I have to admit that despite having training in Muay Thai, I found it a very educating experience to have even my most basic movies such as the leg kick fine tuned. When I visited, the membership price was around 85 – 90 a month. The catch is that in order to train in some of the classes, you had to have reached a certain belt level. Although I did not sign up this wasn’t a bad deal for those looking to thoroughly train and compete in Muay Thai, as Mike Miles has a reputable fighters team that often competes. A few more little things: I believe that they also have youth/children classes. They have a tiny gym with weights and machines They have change rooms with lockers, but are somewhat small.
